“My wife and I both had paella made with Octopus, fish, and shrimp. As always, it was amazing. Rich and slightly spicy. My favorite spot for seafood in this area.”
“I called, placed my order and the Girl on the phone was friendly and accurate as to what I had ordered and she said my pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. I drove to my local Rosati’s in Lindenhurst Illinois 20 minutes later and picked up my piping hot thin crust, 4 topping Pizza! Everyone at the counter was friendly. I didn’t have to wait because it was ready as was promised and I was a happy camper! If you live in the neighborhood I recommend going there, you won’t be disappointed. Yummy!!!??????”
“Lucky Penny's is a place to gamble. A little pricey on the alcohol, shots ect.. it was nice place and had a calming atmosphere. They had pool tables next room over and ,2 dart machine in the main part with the bar and the machine to gamble. If I was in that area again might stop by. I wouldn't go out of my way. Not sure if they had food cuz we didn't order anything. I'm guessing maybe pizza. The 2 employees we encountered were very nice & friendly.”
“So, we usually head here after playing volleyball. It has really become a place where most of the locals go. It is a very interesting atmosphere cause most visitors know each other and bartenders know customers by name. You get a homely vibe when you enter. Great beer selection. The owner goes out of his way to introduce new beers from local or distant breweries. This place is one of the few which carries Zombie Dust from Three Floyds. Again, they have a great selection of beers. There is also gaming there. The food comes from Rosati's which is next door. Can't go wrong with having some wings, fries and pizza while enjoying drinks with friends. The bartenders make you feel welcomed which is a good reason to return often.”
“We ordered through Doordash and the food was tasty but missing an ingredient (jalapeños) listed under description.Placed order on Saturday night at 7:23 and wasn't ready for dasher to pick up until 8:17.Worth the wait.”
“We only eat Chinese food from this family's place. It's NYC take out delicious which is a big deal. The portions are giant and everything is super fresh. Selection is great and all of the family eats it so I'm all in.The staff is always friendly and helpful and they always make sure I have any extras i may want. I've never been disappointed with the restaurant.Dietary restrictions: All you have to do is mention what you need different and vola it's done”
“Best taco bell branch in the world. Food is always cooked to perfection, quick service, and clean location. Even if you dont like taco bell, I recommend trying this location. I love how they organize the sauce packets.”
“I came here for dinner the other night and was THRILLED with the food and service. My waitress Kyleigh was attentive, friendly, and provided good recommendations concerning the menu. I will absolutely be coming back :)”
“Met Alex the manager today (night shift), I didn’t catch his last name unfortunately but saw him working really hard helping his co-workers and being on top of everything that was going on. Great attitude and commitment, He is an excellent leader someone that sets the example for everyone!!! People like him are very few. I had a few words with him and immediately recognized what a great person with an amazing work ethic and professionalism is and very proud of his work place. MCD’s I truly believe you have someone there that can and will make a big difference overall, and I will definitely without a doubt mentor him and give him the tools to become a great leader for your organization!Keep it up Alex great job!!!!”
“Finally tried Emily's after driving past so many times. Easy getting into...lots of parking. I love the facility; multiple rooms (which I enjoy.) The menu is large and the offerings look quite filling. The pancakes are terrific. Our server was friendly but not very attentive, although I appreciated the carafes of coffee for the table. Overall a great option for breakfast/ lunch.”
“This is the most authentic Cantonese and Szechouan food I've had in the Northern suburbs. It's also the only Chinese restaurant in the County that has dine-in! We ordered potstickers, crab Rangoon chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, orange chicken, House Chow Fun, and happy family. And that was just for me! (just kidding) The potstickers were very large and delicious and so was the crab Rangoon. The chicken dishes were done exceptionally well with juicy chicken and crispy veg. The Chow Fun (rice noodles) were wonderful and perfectly caramelized in the magic stir-fry sauce. The fried rice was excellent, and didn't come eith peas and carrots which, in my opinion, don't belong in fried rice anyway. This is a small mom-and-pop type, establishment. Everyone is friendly, and I would urge everyone who loves Chinese food, to come here and either eat in or carry out. Next time I'm in Illinois, I'm coming back!”
“Friendly staff!I ordered a decaf coffee and was told to wait for a couple minutes. They were brewing a new batch. Though the wait was only for a minute, they gave me two chocolate donuts along with my coffee. Such a nice gesture. The coffee was good and so were the donuts. Thank you guys!”
“We've eaten there ever since they opened. It's our favorite Wendy's in all the world! The personnel is always kind and friendly, and don't get me started about their burgers. By far our No.1 choice for fast food.”
“This places is amazing! Everything I have tried so far is delicious. The staff is so friendly and make you feel so welcomed. I will definitely be going back again and again. Love this place. ?”
“We are from WI and found Big Ed's because it was close to the hotel we stayed at. Unfortunately they we out of a few favorites but we found others and all 3 meals were outstanding. I had a full rack of ribs which were amazing and the wings were just as good. Service was great and super friendly...every employee was helpful and had smiles on their faces. Love the mom and pop local family business and already planning trips back to try the favorites they were out of as well as past the word on to everyone we know that loves BBQ. Well worth the hour drive!”
“We tried this place for the first time. We needed a sourdough baguette. We also picked up pastries and drinks there. Everything was very good. The almond croissant was delicious.”
“My family visited back in January. I live several states away. It was so good, I am looking forward to revisiting to enjoy another incredible meal next time I’m in town!”
“Friendly owners and staff. Cozy atmosphere inside. Food is always consistently good in our experiences. Our favorites are the chicken salad sandwiches and bread pudding.”
“Very friendly people work here and make you welcome from the get-go.Had the chorizo casserole. It was delicious and filling. Had a $2 16oz Hamms as well. They had PBR and Stroh's as well.In addition, they have poker machines for entertainment.”
“After growing up within the Latino community, eating authentic Mexican dishes, and learning how to cook within that community, I'm pretty particular about the Mexican food establishments I give my hard-earned cash to, because I know what good Mexican food is and it is often not what you get...Cinco Hermanos gets my money happily! As such, I often have certain requests that may not be on a menu, but I know are doable, based on my knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Not only do they happily receive my request during my phone order, the request is always executed correctly and to my liking. My husband doesn't like certain things in his burrito, and when ordering from other places, those things were either in there, or replaced with other "fillers." He orders the same exact thing every time, so he has often been disappointed...and his requests are easy like no lettuce and no rice inside the burrito...no biggie, right? The first time we ordered the way my hubby likes his burrito, from Cinco Hermanos, not only did they get the order right, they added some extra meat in the burrito as the "filler." That's customer service and attention to detail right there!I love that their tacos ARE NOT GREASY!! We love tacos al pastor, but they are often bathing in grease, which is actually just laziness on the cook's part...I know, because I make them at home, often. I usually don't like to order carryout tacos as a result, because they arrive home soggy and greasy...NOT the experience I've had at Cinco Hermanos! The tortillas rarely have any extra grease on them and the meat is the same. Any tacos I've ever ordered from them arrive home intact, non-soggy, and as delicious as if they were just prepared in my own kitchen!I also really enjoy their green salsa...it tastes like homemade. You can tell that they used fresh ingredients and that it was made in smaller batches. It's hard to explain, but trust me when I say it is one of the best green salsas I've ever had, including some homemade authentic versions. It's a little warmer than most, so be prepared for that, but it is crave-able!If you're looking for a stellar caldo de res, this is the place! Not only did it taste like the thousands of caldo's I've enjoyed in Mexican kitchens over my lifetime, it was served the way you'd be served in said kitchen...plenty of meat and veggies in that delicious broth! My typical experience ordering caldo to-go, is a container with a lot of broth, one or two small pieces of meat, one small carrot, more cabbage than anything, and half a potato...not even enough meat to make a decent taco to eat with the broth. I ordered this one weekend I was sick, and let me tell you, it hit ALL the right spots! Rich broth with an abundance of meat and veggies...exactly the way it would be served in my home kitchen. I was floored when I opened the container and saw it, and then more pleasantly surprised when I tasted it...perfection! Just know that it's only available on weekends and totally worth the wait! Oh, and one of my requests, LOTS of limes, was absolutely fulfilled, happily. Hats off to this place for great customer service!I've not had one thing on the menu that has displeased me, nor has my husband. Not one.Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I have certain requests when I order carryout, not excessive by any means, just certain things we prefer, like only green salsa and no plastic utensils necessary. At other places we've ordered, 8 out of 10 times, there's a bunch of red salsa in the bag - along with the green - and a bunch of plastic forks that end up in our garbage can. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from Cinco Hermanos, the instructions are followed to a T, which tells me that they're good business people and not throwing their money in our garbage can. As a business person, I find that smart, admirable, and a likely indicator of how they run their business on every level. Here's a good "tell" if a Mexican restaurant ”
“This is a cute hideaway with amazing food! Service and staff were great and restaurant is clean with an updated layout. I would highly recommend the pancakes, they are quite big but taste amazing! Talk about bang for your buck! Can't wait to go back!”
“The food, atmosphere, and customer service are phenomenal. I am incredibly excited to keep coming back. This is a new favorite!Vegetarian options: There are veggie and Paneer options which are a breath of fresh air and add options.”
“Absolutely wonderful!!! It was 10:30 on Thursday place was packed like it was Sunday after church. Tonya our waitress was on point. We had 4 people so we split up on 2 tables. The pancakes awesome! The biscuits and gravy best ever. I could have eaten just gravy. It was that good!!”
“This is a really special place and so needed in this area. We were instantly hooked after the first visit a week ago and couldn't wait to return today. We've had about 5 different menu items and have loved the taste and freshness. Plus the staff is incredibly kind!”
“I generally don’t write reviews. Been going here for years. Today my light went out. I knew it was coming. Alex let me borrow a light. Alex and Mason routinely go out of their way to help their customers.”
“We had our wedding reception at The Barrel Room @ Harbor Brewing Company, Lake Villa.Firstly, let me say that the staff is incredible, passionate, and extremely supportive. Not only do you sense that when you are enjoying the public bar facing Cedar Avenue, but you feel that especially when you host a private event in their premier entertainment space: The Barrel Room.We worked with Alyssa from start to finish. She is an incredible person, helping us every step of the way. She made incredible suggestions to us, relieving a lot of our stress from the experience, which you cannot put a price on.The overall atmosphere is incredible. What they were able to achieve with their beautiful space is going to liven up downtown Lake Villa. We held our ceremony at Lehmann Park and our catering was from Galati's next door to HBC. (Please check out Galati's and my review for them.)Between Harbor Brewing and Galati's, downtown Lake Villa has two 'anchor' establishments that will surely cultivate an incredible future. My wife and I will be visiting often to enjoy a pint and some of the best Italian food from Galati's.Thank you, to the HBC staff. Thank you to Alyssa. Our wedding could not have been what it was without you.”
