“This place is fantastic. We had DK as our chef and he was an amazing showman. We felt like we were the only people there and the food was amazing. I could come just for the veggies and rice, it’s that good.”
“My Daughter brought me take out the other night. I haven't had a double cheeseburger like the one from Wayne's in FOR-fRkn-EVER !!!I will be their newest "forever" customer, as long as those burgers are there.!!I wasn't there, so my review is based on food only.~UPDATE: March 2024~I have been to Wayne's and found the atmosphere comfortable and rellaxing. Service was prompt and friendly.Last time I was there, I ordred Wayne's Double Cheeseburger to take home The burger was a generous size, hot, well prepared and delicious.I ordered a Large order of fries and probably would have done well with a small order considering the ample size of their large.Next time, I plan on trying their pizza. Stay tuned; watch this space.”
“This place is amazing. Had the wings for an appetizer and they were perfectly cooked. Nice and crunchy just delicious! Then the pizza came out and whoa!! Had the Bills Special well done with extra sauce. It was cooked to perfection and the crust was super crunchy just the way I like it! If you're into thin crust tavern style pizza, this place is it. Not to mention all the delicious free peanuts I also devoured! Bills Pizza Pub is a winner!! ?”
“I come here daily and it's always clean, friendly, fast to respond to drinks, free chips and snacks and an overall great atmosphere. I love this place. Shanty is alwsys working and is very friendly and helpful.”
“My favorite place to eat Chinese food and FYI, a couple of years ago I was in Mississippi and found the same name when looking for somewhere to eat. The menu was exactly the same. It was news to me that they are a big chain of restaurants.”
“I come here consistently to do homework and the staff is just superior. Always make sure I'm ok and I feel so welcome here. Service is always impeccable. If I could give all the employees here a raise, I would. Ya'll deserve the best, thanks for giving me the best every time :)”
“One of the nicest locations I've ever been. People who work their are very helpful and patient. Love this place. Super clean, very professional. I can definitely recommend this location.”
“I want to take the opportunity to let everybody know that visiting this restaurant for the first time exceeded my expectations. Everything from the Customer Service to the GREAT food they have to offer. They really take this to the next level in going above and beyond to ensure all the customers are happy and satisfied with the overall service and the food. I honestly don’t see that a lot nowadays, THANK YOU and keep up the great work. There’s a reason why I came back again!”
“Just had a very tasty and healthy lunch with my husband. The house burger was yummy, the tortilla soup was really tasty and the Cobb salad was amazing! The dressing is homemade and really good! It’s a family owned restaurant and everyone is really nice and carrying!! There is also plenty of parking in the plaza. High recommended!”
“I saw Big Ed's on Chicago's best and wanted to give it a try. I will say arriving as soon as they open will ensure you are able to get a plate before they get packed with customers. I have to say the rib tip dinner is a lot of food for sure! It could feed two people easily. The food quality and the service really is worth every penny!”
“We tried this place for the first time. We needed a sourdough baguette. We also picked up pastries and drinks there. Everything was very good. The almond croissant was delicious.”
“Impeccable. Fantastic. Bussin'.You haven't had fried chicken like the Korean Fried Chicken served here. It definitely rivals American Southern Style. The food is so good we ordered some to go right after our meal. A great choice for Sunday night football or a guys night in gaming. Ladies, I don't know what y'all do.I got the Red Hot Pepper Chicken. The heat slowly builds while you chew, but is mellowed by a light sweetness at the beginning of every bite, making you want more.My girl got the Lemon Green Onion. The touch of citrus went really well with the mellow sweetness of the sauce leaving an almost fresh taste to a fried dish.Caring, enthusiastic and energetic Owner followed by kind and attentive wait staff.Seriously, homie is all over the place (in a good way). Behind the counter and at the table face to face; his interaction with us was comical and heartwarming. He went through the whole menu (large selection) and explained the varieties of fried chicken, recommended sauces, and alternative dishes if chicken ain't for you, nerds.Vegetarian options: I think it's hilarious to recommend a fried chicken restaurant to vegetarians. So yes, please come here. There are some options for y'all but not a lot. Mostly potato related items, cheese dishes if your diet allows it and Korean pancakes (savory). Seafood?Sincerely, good luck.Parking: It's a ducking mall dude. There is plenty of parking. To be closest, go off of Hawthorn Ctr. Northern side of mall.Google maps itKid-friendliness: Very understanding and patient staff to otherwise undeserving patrons.Cute kid running around, wrong place to do it though. Unbothered parents, specifically an entitled mom who says "oh, he's fine" until he slips and bust his head or breaks the expensive ? service robot they have. This lady had the huevos ? to give the dude attitude when he points out the kid chasing down Mr. Roboto and then is at the shop exit. She said "maybe we'll just leave" ?Bro, this is not "your village", it's a fried chicken chateau ?, raise your damn kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Yurrr. Y'all can roll up easy once inside. They can move some chairs aside. I got no smoke for y'all, I don't wanna get cancelled. But we can all agree we don't like vegetarians.I'm just kidding, grazers.”
“All that it was hyped up to be! Brought my wife and son for a coffee but ended up trying the breakfast sandwich and pastries mmmmm so Devine. Everyone is super friendly, professional and attentive. This fine establishment is a military supporter so be sure to inform the cashier. I definitely recommend this Awesome coffee shop to Everyone!”
“This is our favorite restaurant in Vernon Hills, and we come here frequently. Our recent dinner was a business dinner with a number of my colleagues and it was a great venue for the group to try new wines, taste delicious appetizers and enjoy great Indian-fusion entrees in an inviting space with great ambiance.”
“I miss that place ?I move down south... There taco salad and the steak California burrito are sooo good not just those but all there food is good..And the workers there are great...I you to good ther two to three times a week...”
“After growing up within the Latino community, eating authentic Mexican dishes, and learning how to cook within that community, I'm pretty particular about the Mexican food establishments I give my hard-earned cash to, because I know what good Mexican food is and it is often not what you get...Cinco Hermanos gets my money happily! As such, I often have certain requests that may not be on a menu, but I know are doable, based on my knowledge of Mexican cuisine. Not only do they happily receive my request during my phone order, the request is always executed correctly and to my liking. My husband doesn't like certain things in his burrito, and when ordering from other places, those things were either in there, or replaced with other "fillers." He orders the same exact thing every time, so he has often been disappointed...and his requests are easy like no lettuce and no rice inside the burrito...no biggie, right? The first time we ordered the way my hubby likes his burrito, from Cinco Hermanos, not only did they get the order right, they added some extra meat in the burrito as the "filler." That's customer service and attention to detail right there!I love that their tacos ARE NOT GREASY!! We love tacos al pastor, but they are often bathing in grease, which is actually just laziness on the cook's part...I know, because I make them at home, often. I usually don't like to order carryout tacos as a result, because they arrive home soggy and greasy...NOT the experience I've had at Cinco Hermanos! The tortillas rarely have any extra grease on them and the meat is the same. Any tacos I've ever ordered from them arrive home intact, non-soggy, and as delicious as if they were just prepared in my own kitchen!I also really enjoy their green salsa...it tastes like homemade. You can tell that they used fresh ingredients and that it was made in smaller batches. It's hard to explain, but trust me when I say it is one of the best green salsas I've ever had, including some homemade authentic versions. It's a little warmer than most, so be prepared for that, but it is crave-able!If you're looking for a stellar caldo de res, this is the place! Not only did it taste like the thousands of caldo's I've enjoyed in Mexican kitchens over my lifetime, it was served the way you'd be served in said kitchen...plenty of meat and veggies in that delicious broth! My typical experience ordering caldo to-go, is a container with a lot of broth, one or two small pieces of meat, one small carrot, more cabbage than anything, and half a potato...not even enough meat to make a decent taco to eat with the broth. I ordered this one weekend I was sick, and let me tell you, it hit ALL the right spots! Rich broth with an abundance of meat and veggies...exactly the way it would be served in my home kitchen. I was floored when I opened the container and saw it, and then more pleasantly surprised when I tasted it...perfection! Just know that it's only available on weekends and totally worth the wait! Oh, and one of my requests, LOTS of limes, was absolutely fulfilled, happily. Hats off to this place for great customer service!I've not had one thing on the menu that has displeased me, nor has my husband. Not one.Not only is the food delicious, the service is impeccable. I have certain requests when I order carryout, not excessive by any means, just certain things we prefer, like only green salsa and no plastic utensils necessary. At other places we've ordered, 8 out of 10 times, there's a bunch of red salsa in the bag - along with the green - and a bunch of plastic forks that end up in our garbage can. EVERY SINGLE TIME we order from Cinco Hermanos, the instructions are followed to a T, which tells me that they're good business people and not throwing their money in our garbage can. As a business person, I find that smart, admirable, and a likely indicator of how they run their business on every level. Here's a good "tell" if a Mexican restaurant ”
“The chicken was tasty, however, it's a bit of a nuisance that the smallest amount of chicken you can buy is a 10 piece. EVERY fried chicken place in the world have 2+ chicken combos. No 1 person can eat 10 pieces of chicken in 1 setting, true, the chicken can be taken home, however, for out of towners (which they get a lot of) can not. They should serve combos like other spots, they'll make more money.Update: ok, so after driving from Chicago back to Michigan, I realized a few things. 1. The "wings" weren't wings, they were actually wing dings, and the thought of eating 10 wings just for myself was outrageous, however, I am kicking myself, because I could have totally eaten 10 of those wing dings. I got the chicken around 1145 am, got home close to 8pm, and those buggers were still crunchy, yes CRUNCHY. I popped them in the air fryer and they were DELICIOUS. Best wing dings I've ever eaten in my life! Get the 10 wing dings, you will eat every one. I got the Galbi spicy ?. Even the pickled radishes were fresh and delicious. 5 out of 5 for me, and I dont even like chicken like that.”
“Friendly owners and staff. Cozy atmosphere inside. Food is always consistently good in our experiences. Our favorites are the chicken salad sandwiches and bread pudding.”
“Absolutely love this place! I had no idea it was 100% Gluten Free, when searching for Gluten-free restaurants, this one doesn’t show up. But because it’s entirely GF, it would be awesome to add this to the Google Business account so it appears on searches.Vegetarian options: Tons of delicious veggie options.Dietary restrictions: 100% Gluten Free, options for every diet.Kid-friendliness: Great food that kids love!”
“My family visited back in January. I live several states away. It was so good, I am looking forward to revisiting to enjoy another incredible meal next time I’m in town!”
“The food, atmosphere, and customer service are phenomenal. I am incredibly excited to keep coming back. This is a new favorite!Vegetarian options: There are veggie and Paneer options which are a breath of fresh air and add options.”
“Far better than your average greasy food taquiria. The owner was incredibly nice and helpful. I ordered an El pastor taco. I usually do flour tortillas instead of corn but since they make the latter in house chose that instead. 100% the correct decision. Never had a corn tortilla so fresh and tasty. The pork wasn't greasy and had superior flavor. On a whim also ordered the Korean taco with bulgogi spices and cabbage slaw. AMAZING flavor and texture. Got a carne asada burrito for my wife. You can tell they use superior Angus beef..it was top Notch in flavor and consistency.HIGHLY recommend this eatery. Will be back whenever I'm in the area.Parking: Easy.”
“Incredible authentic Philly cheesesteaks. Beyond that, the service is awesome too - the owner/staff are so friendly and attentive. This has quickly become one of my go-to spots. 10/10 would recommend.”
“This place has the best corn beef and pastrami sandwich. I eat here more times than I should and I eat 2 sandwiches when I should be eating one. You gotta try "The Yummy". Hot Corn beef, pastrami, cheese, horseradish, mustard, on rye.”
“Absolutely wonderful!!! It was 10:30 on Thursday place was packed like it was Sunday after church. Tonya our waitress was on point. We had 4 people so we split up on 2 tables. The pancakes awesome! The biscuits and gravy best ever. I could have eaten just gravy. It was that good!!”
“Interesting and mixed experiences. The beer was kinda flavorless, but the cocktails were amazing. The chicken quesadilla was pretty flavorless and had no seasoning on it, but the hush puppies and bacon biscuits were to die for. I was skeptical of the wings since they came out plain, but they were cooked to perfection and the sauces were really good. And then came the butter cake which is quite possibly one of the best things ever put in my mouth”
“My wife and I decided to stop in and give this place a try. We are happy we did because the drinks were amazing. The strawberry moon martini was a hit, and the appetizers were delicious. We were fortunate they had live music that night. It was a really good time. We plan to go back in the future. If you're in the neighborhood, give this place a try!”
“This is a really special place and so needed in this area. We were instantly hooked after the first visit a week ago and couldn't wait to return today. We've had about 5 different menu items and have loved the taste and freshness. Plus the staff is incredibly kind!”
“Very flavorful beef, excellent hot peppers. Fresh cut fries are a real star here. $9.75 for the beef, $3.50 for the fries, but you get a fully bag, perfection cooked”
