“Highly recommend! Wow. What an experience at The Vegas Cafe in Antioch, Illinois. The food and drinks were excellent. We had the stuffed French toast, a skillet, pancakes, strawberry waffles, and a breakfast wrap. For drinks, we ordered hot chocolate and iced tea and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is truly amazing. From the hostesses to our server to the bussers, everyone was hardworking, kind, and genuinely caring. You could feel it right when you walked in. They wanted you there and treated you so well. Then there is the owner, Helen. She is an absolute gem. She introduced herself and spent time talking with us about her family, the business, and getting to know us. Even before she mentioned she was the owner, you could tell by the way she carried herself and interacted with guests. She clearly cares about her staff and her customers. When Helen found out we were there celebrating my mother’s birthday, she went above and beyond. My mom is still talking about it. We are so thankful to our server Callie, the owner Helen, and everyone at The Vegas Cafe. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.”

The owner—often found behind the bar—sets the tone with a warm, personable presence that immediately makes guests feel at ease. Her cocktail craftsmanship is equally impressive: the Manhattan is exemplary, balanced and precise, while the martinis are consistently excellent, executed with confidence and restraint. The ambiance strikes an ideal note—refined yet relaxed—making it a natural choice for a pre-dinner aperitif or a lingering post-meal nightcap. During a recent visit, a live singing group added a festive touch, infusing the space with genuine Christmas cheer without overwhelming the intimate atmosphere. While we have not yet sampled the food, dishes arriving at neighboring tables are beautifully presented and look enticing, suggesting the bar program is thoughtfully complemented by the kitchen. Taylor’s on Toft is a standout in Antioch: a place defined by gracious hospitality, expertly made cocktails, and an atmosphere that invites return visits. Highly recommended.”

“First of all, Simon’s a great host who also loves to make software. We’re here all the time, and our team loves coming to Open Mic to work, be creative, and meet with clients. It’s a comfortable, welcoming space that naturally sparks good conversations and cool ideas—some of our best ideas have come out of brainstorming sessions in this spot. Sometimes we’re heads-down getting work done, sometimes sketching things out, sometimes picking up a guitar or playing a little piano between sprints. Great coffee and tea, a relaxed creative vibe, and always something interesting going on. It’s one of our favorite spots in Lake County, Illinois.”

“Prices on the web and sign inside need to be updated. Gyro plate w/frys are now $15.09, Gyro sandwich is now $10. 38, Onion rings are now $6.65. Tell the new guy the pita is goes on the bottom of the dinner plate. The pita bread is also smaller now. Still good food and fast service 👌.”

“Sweet Discoveries of Antioch is an amazing bakery with an incredibly talented owner, and she has now been a part of two of the biggest moments in our lives.

A little over a year ago, she made the cake for our wedding, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. We had a pretty specific cake in mind. A rustic two-tier cake with layers of red velvet and chocolate, along with Oreo and cream cheese frostings. It was definitely more involved than your typical cake, but she brought exactly what we envisioned to life. It looked amazing and tasted even better. Her talent and attention to detail are honestly extraordinary.

Fast forward to now, and we came back to her for our gender reveal cake. We told her how much we had loved our wedding cake, but said she could keep this one simple and just make us a vanilla cake with the inside dyed for the gender reveal.

Instead, she completely surprised us.

She recreated the wedding cake we loved, with the same flavors and fillings, and simply dyed the cream cheese filling inside for the gender reveal. We weren’t expecting it at all, and it made the moment that much more special. Going from making the cake for our wedding to now making the cake where we found out the gender of our first child was such an awesome full-circle moment.

Beyond her incredible work, she’s always been wonderful to work with and her pricing is extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality, detail, and care she puts into what she makes.

We can’t recommend Sweet Discoveries of Antioch enough. She’s helped make two huge milestones in our lives a little more special, and we’ll absolutely be coming back for many more!”

She is always so friendly on the phone taking your order and then very friendly and attentive when you arrive to pick up your pizza. We go to this ROSATI location all the time and she has always been very friendly and receptive.”

“Last weekend was our first time at this fun-loving bar on the water. We went to hear the band Crooked Fences because we have a friend in the band. They serve up bar food - burgers, cheese curds, etc. - and, of course, drinks in a fun atmosphere on the water. There are garage door that open to the dock, so it gives a outdoor vibe. They also have a ferry to Blarney Island that leaves from the bar for $15 round trip. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. A good place for a casual afternoon or evening by the water.”

“While picking up dinner tonight at the Antioch location, the fire alarms had went off. The team was really assuring that there was no real emergency. Though it did create a communication barrier being so loud, the staff remained calm and friendly. To make up for it, a gentleman passed out cookies to those in line. This location is very clean and you can tell the staff takes pride. Can’t wait to continue to make this our go to comfort food place!”

I have made a habit of going on a Friday or Saturday evening, Jackie the host is what keeps me going back, she is a big draw for this establishment, she goes above and beyond for the guest and seems to greet most by name, many have told me they go there to visit with Jackie and play some slots. So nice to have a great adult entertainment close to home.”

“Came for Christmas in July. When we arrived, it wasn’t Christmas at all. Lack of decorations, no Santa, no gifts, no grinch. A little annoyed because they advertised it very well but never put an end time. Apparently my family arrived right after Santa and the grinch left. Wish they would have put an end time, enjoyed it a lot last year with the family. Disappointing this year. On the other hand, band and drinks were good per-usual. Usually don’t have any other issues when we come here. Overall a good vibe.”
