“I met a group of friends here for breakfast and was very pleased with the food and service. This is a small family owned businesses that is celebrating thier 45th anniversary. Let that sink in ... This family has been serving the community for 45 years. Felisha was our server. She was kind and friendly, provided excellent service, miraculously she remembered everyone's name at our table, lol, and even had a few good jokes up her sleeve. Thank you for the great service, Felisha! My compliments to the chef for cooking my poached eggs perfectly just the way I ordered them. And the hash potatoes were honestly some of the best I've had. 5 STARS across the board.“

“Sandy’s in Highwood is the kind of place every neighborhood wishes it had. The food is consistently great, everything tastes fresh, and you can tell they care about quality rather than just turning tables. Service is friendly and attentive. It’s become our go-to spot, a real neighborhood gem. Highly recommend.“

“I had the pleasure of enjoying Sunday breakfast with my wife. The atmosphere is wonderful , the service is excellent , and the food is fresh and delicious. Donna surprised my wife with a birthday cake , and all the guests sang „Happy Birthday’’ to her. It was such a special moment ! Thank you for creating such a fantastic birthday vibe. I highly recommended this local spot for a great experience.“

“I rarely eat out these days because it’s hard to find places that truly care about using quality ingredients, but this place blew me away! The food is absolutely delicious, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The Million Dollar Bacon is incredible—perfectly cooked and so flavorful. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!“

“Solid local breakfast spot in DF, the staff is super friendly and good service. The food tastes great and they have a wide menu. I personally love their Mexican breakfast dishes. It’s got a cute diner vibe inside and is easy to just walk in and grab a seat for breakfast. I do enjoy their breakfast but it’s not my #1 spot in the area.“

“We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Lake Forest location when we were in town for our daughter's U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command graduation. By far the best place we ate when we were in the Chicagoland area. I gave it a nod in my book and encourage anyone visiting Great Lakes to stop there with their sailor during liberty.“

“This place is awesome, I wish I found this place early in our vacation. I drove by this places twice or three time a day. Then one family member said let’s get breakfast. We found this place and it was amazing.
The food was so delicious and the staff was so kind and always checking on you and filling my coffee.
They are open from 0630 to 1430.“

“My wife and I celebrated our anniversary breakfast at Gardenberry Cafe, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how clean, friendly, and welcoming the atmosphere was. The outdoor seating was a real highlight—it felt so good to enjoy a quiet meal outside together. Now the food… wow. I ordered the fajita skillet and French toast—both were incredible. My wife had the deluxe Philly cheesesteak with fries and tortilla soup. That soup was out of this world, and everything on her plate was just as impressive. The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Honestly, the only "negative" is that Gardenberry is 35 minutes from our house. If it were closer, we'd be regulars. But even with the drive, we’ll absolutely be back soon. Great place, great people, great food. Highly recommend!“

“We’ve had IHOP several times, and Roman is hands down one of the best servers we’ve experienced. We’ve been lucky to have him multiple times, and he’s consistently attentive, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. He checks in at the right times, keeps everything running smoothly, and always has a great attitude. Service like his really makes a difference, definitely one of the reasons we keep coming back!“

“We found this place in our way to another breakfast place and decided to stop. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Best breakfast food we have had ever, restaurant is extremely clean, everyone working was friendly. We will definitely return if we are near Chicago again“
