“We were looking for breakfast while on the Highway. This place was 10 minutes out of our way, but well worth it! This was the best French Toast and the staff worked together like a well oiled machine. They were all so friendly and efficient.“

I felt as though I was eating brunch at my Abuelita’s home. Thank you Samantha and family for the warm welcome- the red chilaquiles and cafe de olla we’re phenomenal and I will be sure to be back with my babies and husband! I mentioned to Samantha I was treating myself for my birthday and she brought out a cinnamon role with a candle meant the world to me!“

“We came straight from the airport and had several hours before we could check into our Airbnb. We found this spot online and decided to take a chance, and we’re glad that we did.

The best thing I can say about this place is that they were very accommodating and had an extremely kind staff. We had luggage with us and were basically killing time before check-in, and they made us feel completely comfortable.

You might not even notice City Bear Cafe driving by, but if you are looking for a delicious meal in a down to earth, comfortable environment, check it out! The homemade salsa and breakfast potatoes are excellent. I had the breakfast burrito and loved it. My son had the nutella waffle, which had tons of fruit and whipped cream. Everything was great. Fried Egg Cafe has been delicious pretty much every time I’ve been, but the portions are also incredibly generous for the price relative to spots with a comparable quality and breadth. Staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful, and food arrives very quickly. I’m always a fan of shakshouka and theirs is fantastic. The sassy eggs are also a must have.“

The food is fantastic and I very much enjoy everything from the Bacon Temptation Omelette to the Spicy Poblano Omelette to the Crispy Chicken Sandwich to the Cowboy Burger. All of the food is fabulous and very well prepared, the variety is wonderful, and the coffee is always fresh. And above all, Ivan and the waitstaff provide customer service that's 'above and beyond' in every way. They're very kind, compassionate, efficient, and accomodating to everybody who comes into the establishment. Keep up the great work!“

“I was a steady customer but will not be returning to this establishment again. Today I asked to sit in a booth and James, the owner said "We're too busy to sit one person in a "big" booth. (I was the only one waiting for a table.) So the waitress wanted me to sit at a table. The "big" booth seats 4. The table they wanted me to sit at also seats 4. The only difference is the booth doesn't hurt my back like the hard chairs do. I'm dying of cancer, which James is aware of, I have enough pain I don't need any more by sitting on hard chairs. Well he won't have to worry about being so "busy" to let someone have some comfort he's got one less patron. I'm done with this place.“

Jesus has been our server of choice for many years however everyone is as friendly and efficient! Our daughter was a student at NU so anytime we were in town, we had breakfast at LePeep. Sadly she has graduated and now we go when we make it in town!“

“if you feel hungry , sad, alone. this is the place to go to. I went here with a friend while i was visiting in town and it made me wish i can be a regular here. the staff feels like family. immediately i felt so comfortable and taken care of. i know if i came there alone they would talk through life with me with a big bowl of yummy warm food. the food was AMAZING and so filling everything tasted so natural/whole and cooked with care! the service was great and the food came out in a timely manner!

It’s got a cute diner vibe inside and is easy to just walk in and grab a seat for breakfast. I do enjoy their breakfast but it’s not my #1 spot in the area.“

“City cafe is a hidden gem. It’s a family owned and run cafe…the stuff you love to see. Old school chicago cubs themed diner! all the food is excellent and made to order. Fluffy eggs and pancakes…I cant wait to try more things on the menu.
