Glad to see the Alamo Steakhouse and Salon is still doing business in Mattoon, IL in front of the Cross Country Mall. My first paying job was there in 1982 - it was originally called Fat Albert's Steakhouse and Salon, first started in 1978, not sure when name changed to Alamo, probably sometime in the late 1980s or early '90's. Alamo Steakhouse is the gold standard of food industry and premier customer care. They have revamped their menu and it's delicious! It has been really fun to start going to the Alamo for dinner, even if we just come in for some apps and shoot the breeze with their welcoming bar staff! We will definitely be back soon!
Great food & great service. This is one resteraunt that's our go to when visiting the area.
