“12/7/24 I’m from steeleville, this was the best burgers my mom and I have ever had at a Dairy Queen. Hot and juicy. The fries were great also. The staff was fast and great. All Dairy Queen’s should strive to be this good. They were really busy also.“

“The cashier, Sarah was great. She was very polite, asked if I wanted to upsize and was gracious in thanking me for service to our country (I am a Marine Corps veteran, SEMPER FI ⚓). I did receive 10% off my meal as advertised for being a veteran. I ordered #8 (The Frisco Burger combo) and it was awesome. “The owner gets a lot of flak for inconsistent business hours and sometimes apparently having to stop taking orders due to their inability to handle both call-in and walk-in orders. I've only experienced the inconsistent business hours once and have never been turned away or told that they're too busy to take my order. Orders *do* take a long time, though, and it doesn't seem like they ever have times that they're not busy. The food... Most restaurants in Southern Illinois are very limited for vegan options. Dale's is more of a "greasy burger joint" than restaurant, but they have more vegan options than any other eatery in the area. So far, my kids and I have tried the chick'n sandwich, vegan Philly cheesesteak, and the Impossible burger. All of them were amazing! My daughter and I love the chick'n sandwich the best. Dale's even offers vegan cheese and vegan mayo on request - no additional charge for the burger or cheesesteak, and only $1 on the chick'n sandwich (which is the same as for a slice of dairy cheese)! Where else can you go to a non-vegan restaurant and find that?! Nowhere in Southern Illinois. They offered vegan milkshakes in the past, but I don't think they're going to offer that again. They only have (had?) one machine for making milkshakes, and they would have to wait to run out of the vegan ice cream before they could clean it out and make non-dairy milkshakes and vice-versa. Something like that. Thankfully, the Neighborhood Co-op is just a few doors down if you want to grab a vegan ice cream sandwich, some vegan cupcakes, a vegan chocolate chip cookie, or a vegan chocolate pudding pie cup.... Their fries are pretty sad (floppy), greasy, and overpriced, so we always order fries from Pita Alley next door. :P“

“Love that they have their play area with the good play ground still,if you know what I mean, you know how treasured that is. Foods typical, order is always right, service is great, but we go cuz it's cheap and the kids can burn off some energy.“

“There is a guy at the window, his names Dusty I think and he’s fantastic and definitely deserves a raise lol. Every time I go to this McDonald’s he’s there and he’s always so friendly. He knows how to talk to customers. We pulled up and made a joke and he made one back and we ended up buying an ice cream cone we didn’t even come to get because he sold us on it 😂😂. Definitely recommend this location solely because of him!“

“I just had the most horrible Sonic experience of my life! I used the app to order like I usually do and my food is always ready within a few minutes after my assigned time. Today is my daughter's birthday and I had some people wanting food from Sonic and some people wanting food from another place. I picked up the other food first because I knew I could order on the Sonic app and it would be ready when I got there. I sure was wrong... I checked in at 4:30 for an order that was supposed to be ready at 4:35. I push the button a couple of times to ask about my order and they told me it was on its way. Finally at 5:10 I was fed up. I pushed the button again to ask about my order and they acted like they wanted me to order all over again and then they just shut the mic off on me??? A few minutes later part of my order came out but not all of it... then they went back and got the rest. unfortunately the other food I got was cold and the sandwich I got from Sonic was cold as well. Don't think I'll be going back there again for a long time if ever... thanks for ruining my daughter's birthday...“
