“Visiting my partner's hometown and it was our first time checking out this bar. We wanted to grab a nice old fashion, and this is the place just for that. The bartender is a true mixologist who knows how to mix them! They also had a lovely band playing live music. Love some good vocals and acoustic guitar going. It's a small place, but the vibes are just right. Really cool local art on the walls as well. If we ever come back, we will be sure to check this spot out again.”

“This is a hidden gem. Excellent food and service. The chilaquiles were amazing and came back a couple weeks later for dinner. Had the rib eye sandwich and soup. Tender meat with great flavor and perfect bread. The broccoli soup was delicious. Definitely recommend giving this little place a try.”

“Loved this cute shop from the adorable puppy dog logo to the architecture and, of course, the yummy coffee and sweet treats! Knowledgeable and helpful staff helped me order my tiramisu latte to my liking, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream was the best I'd ever tasted. Plus a nice selection of pure cane sugar sodas. Will definitely come back if we visit Starved Rock again!”

“Took over an hour one way to get here, and it was way worth it. The food was great, so many desserts I couldn't try them all. The service was awesome they always kept our table clear of plates, and my soda was always full.Inside the restaurant is only one part of the atmosphere. I'm sure later in the year when the pond and water fountains are going, the outside will be amazing. I think I counted about 6 peacocks walking around.I think the store outside is permanently closed but they have a few things you can buy in the restaurant. Would have been nice to come here when the store was open.I'll definitely be going back in a few months to see everything in full bloom around the restaurant and having another great meal.”

“I think this is my only perfect review. This restaurant is amazing, it is a breakfast place and they do close at 1pm. Which is a TAD bit of a bummer. The food is always delicious and comes quickly, service is always 10/10.I love this specific restaurant because of one of the waitresses, she's waited on FOUR generations (possibly 5) of my family, she's seen my mother and ny grandmother grow up, and she's seen me grow up. “I was feeling nostalgic last night after the loss of my classmate Tom. I needed to see a fellow classmate. I knew right where to go. Lena Alfano from our class is the proprietor of Alfano’s Pizza. I was comforted by her friendship and by pizza so good it will bring tears to your eyes. She was busy assembling 4,000 pizzas for local school fundraisers. She is an amazing person, businesswoman and classmate. Her husband is the Auditor General for the State of Illinois. If you have never been, do yourself a favor and check out Alfano’s Pizza on Rt. 6.”

“Great for breakfast (served all day) or lunch. Food was tasty, plentiful, and pleasing to the eye. The service was prompt and pleasant. Great place for soup and sandwich, as well as about anything you can think of for breakfast. I had the Firehouse Burger. I asked for medium and it had no pink inside, but was still delicious. Several in our party had either the broccoli soup-of-the-day or the chicken noodle. Both souls were hearty with good flavor. The Fries were double fried with a delicious crunch and the onion rings were also good.”

“I took my family here on 04/08/24. Their atmosphere was beautiful, with a welcoming feel, but the service was slow, however, their food made up for it, since I do not mind waiting for good food. I ordered their ribeye steak dinner cooked medium rare with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and navy bean soup. Their steak was thick and cooked to my liking with minimum fat. Their mashed potatoes were boxed, but still good. I make my gravy homemade, so I wasn't a fan of theirs, but it was still good, too. Their corn was canned, but tasty after I added butter, and their soup was delectable. My kids had their cheese omlette & hashbrowns, baccon cheeseburger & fries, and the breakfast 2x2x2 (sausage, egg, pancakes), which I tasted, and likes as well. Over-all, the food was worth it and very delectable. I will be coming back, and telling friends and family about this cozy place to dine.”

“Steve's has been providing my birthday cakes from 1995 until I moved away when I was an adult. My family is from Ottawa and while most of them reside and get to enjoy Steve's , I get to live in my childhood dreams. Whenever I do go home, this is one of the first places I stop. Donuts are always so fresh and taste so good. They are never too sweet. I can still remembered the chocolate cake with buttercream icing every year for my birthday since I was a little girl. Thank you, Steve's for always catering to my family all these years. I cannot wait to come home and have more donuts to take back with me!! Flavorful, beautiful design, made of love!”
