“Discovered this place on a drive out to Ottawa, Illinois from Chicago. Restaurant is an old dairy farm house that reminds you of a Wisconsin supper club. Food and dessert was spot on, I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. There was a bit of a wait for food however we did get the baked cod and filet mignon. Salad bar was a nice surprise. Did not discover small outdoor patio dinning out back until we were leaving and what a beautiful view it has of beautiful sloped landscape with view of farmland. Worth the stop if out near Ottawa or seeking to dine somewhere that has a supper club feel to it without having to drive north to Wisconsin. Reasonably priced: for 2 people, Baked cod with shrimp vegetables as side, salad bar and a beer, filet mignon with mashed potatoes and gravy, salad bar and a drink. Two desserts big 6 layer carrot cake (delicious) and big piece of chocolate cake. $102.00 with tax cash before tip or $106.00 with credit card.”

“We were visiting Starved Rock State Park this month, and decided we wanted pizza for dinner and found this restaurant. We looked up some reviews ahead of time and confirmed that it is Cash Only. When you walk in, they ask you what toppings do you want, what size pizza, and what drinks you want. They have a thin crust pizza and the toppings were all fresh. I would highly recommend stopping in, or doing a pickup/Togo order to try out this pizza.”

“I usually absolutely love B.A.S.H. but recently they’ve taken a decline. I feel like ever since one of the head chefs left a few years ago, the quality of the food has taken a nosedive. I know this chef left to go to OKC and I’ve actually been to his restaurant there and it’s great! However, it’s just so sad to see a local business not try to keep the same quality since him leaving. It’s to the point where unless we go in person and sit at the sushi bar, our food is always subpar or just “meh”. What’s even worse is that when I ordered take-out for my family this last Friday - you could tell that the sushi rolls were premade and sitting around. I live only a three minute drive from B.A.S.H. and the rolls were warm (it was a rainbow roll, not a cooked roll, it shouldn’t have been warm). I know when I sit at the sushi bar, I can see the cooks off to the side sometimes pre-making rolls, which is all fine and well. But when you’re paying this much for a roll, it should at least not be noticeable that it wasn’t made to order. I truly hope that this review is taken to heart and B.A.S.H. can go back to its old standard it was previously held to when they still had the sushi boats. My family loves coming here and it holds a very special place in our heart, we just wish it was as good as it used to be.”
