“We were in the area and happened to stop by here completely by chance. The place is okay. Unlike other spots where you already have “pre-assembled” ingredients for a poke bowl and just choose which one you want (so-called signature bowls), here you have to build it yourself. The poke was fine. The ingredients are fresh, and since I picked what I like, of course I enjoyed it. The place feels cozy and interesting, with lots of plants inside. My only complaint is that the low white tables are very close together, so you literally can’t move. They need to be spaced out a bit.“

“I love a place where you can pay with a single $20. This is not that place. It's very filling, if acidic, keeps you full for a long time, but you pay the downtown Oak Park tax.
The Boba tea is good, but not great. Once The Wolf opens, go there for tea instead“

“Really lovely and calming atmosphere! I'm from out of town working an event and it was a very relaxing experience to eat here. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and my partner ordered the general tso chicken (and we both got some tempura shrimp). The server was so kind and polite and our food was AMAZING. “Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. “I've been coming to Pono Ono Poke since the year it opened. Almost 8️⃣ years ago. Since then I've been to it at least 200 times. It's always been amazing and continues to be my go to spot whenever I'm in Evanston! I highly highly recommend (also it's so much better Aloha Poke down the street lol) The Miso Salmon, Mochiko Chicken, and Spicy Tuna are my favorites. 😋

The atmosphere is super warm and inviting and the employees are always nice and helpful. The music is always a good vibe too. Jack, the owner, is one the nicest guys I know and an amazing restaurant maker. 🙂“
