“This place is the coolest bar I have been to in a long time, hip and fun but not pretentious. They paid attention to every detail when building and designing. The white marbel bar has clean lines and looks fresh. All of the hardware finishes look sharp and clean. The patio is large and inviting with a fire place and plenty of tables to sit at. The drink menu is creative and refreshing and the staff is kind and welcoming. I cannot say enough good things about this gem of a bar. I am excited to hang out this fall on the patio by the fireplace with good drink in My hand.“

“Absolutely LOVED loved loved The Meadowlark. We came for cocktails with friends on Wednesday night before our 7pm dinner reservation. Upon check in, the hostess escorted us to four seats at the corner of the bar. The bar itself is the most cozy and feels like being at a friend’s house if that friend had a bar in their living room. The bartender was incredibly personable as well as being knowledgeable about the various cocktails on the menu. Before a round of classic cocktails we had to try some of their specialties. The pool party, field trip and pizza party were all remarkably good and interesting without being cloying or sweet. If I lived in Chicago, I would be frequenting this bar on the regular.“

Our waitress taylor was incredible and the manager (so sorry but we never got his name because he was just being so nice to us) was incredible as well. “My first time at the Modern Plate today. I was blown away by the beautiful dining and club room. The food is absolutely amazing and filling. The owner Ted is a very passionate man about his restaraunt, and I admire that. It absolutely shows that there is concern and care that goes into every corner of the Modern Plate. Now, I was here for an event in the club room, but rest assured, I WILL be coming here for just the dining experience and the food. I live about 50min away, but it is...THAT good. “Carrie is their co-owner and her passion for their business is evident in their engagement in the community. They have several events a month to invite adults of many interests and backgrounds. The Skokie Chamber recently had an event at Take Flight and there were only positive remarks about the ambiance, atmosphere, location, and drinks served. She was an excellent cocktail coach explaining how to make delicious cocktails with their in house distilled liquor. PLUS- t *think* you can bring food in from @Village Inn around the corner! “We understand why it’s named Gretel… if you’re wondering where Hansel is, he starved to death waiting for his burger. To be fair, it’s one of the best burgers you can get in Chicago BUT you should not come here if you have any other plans that evening. It took 30 minutes longer to be seated than they initially told us (over an hour and a half total). Once we were seated, pretty sure the waiter forgot about us at our table, but it didn’t really matter because the vibes were high 👌🏼 The drinks were great, but consider bringing your own because you’ll grow a five o’clock shadow waiting for your next round. The host, Jonah, was the shining star of the evening and was truly hilarious. But our waitress kept trying to argue that “well” and “well done” were different levels of doneness, so that was annoying (and slightly concerning). Overall, the food was phenomenal, but it was a very slow experience - the antithesis of “fast” food.“

“First time here since the Rivers Casino expansion. Nice long bar with plenty of seats. Vibe and music is bumpin' as well. Ordered a Dirty Martini and was asked if I wanted dry vermouth with it. Friendly and smiley bartenders. Cute martini glass but could not really taste the alcohol. Some interesting characters at the casino in general, but more so here sitting at the bar. There are game machines on the bar top as well.“

Parking: Lots of spaces in private free lot at night. Don't know how crowded it is during the daytime when golfers using it too.

“This is a review for Nightshade. To get there, you go to the back of Moonflower then through the unmarked black door to the right and downstairs. There are two rooms - one for music/ dancing and the other with small tables for drinks. The night I went the music room wasn’t open (guess you have to know when it’s club night). A bit bare bones in terms of furniture/ atmosphere. But, the drinks were EXCELLENT. Not a huge selection but the table I was with ordered about four different drinks from the specialty menu and they were all better than I was expecting.

Though the downstairs is designed for drinking I saw people eating from the menu upstairs so apparently you can do that.“

“We had our daughter's 1st birthday there and it was perfect! Mary Pat was on top of everything from the beginning and helped plan the perfect event. Diego and Ally executed the day so everyone was taken care of. I highly recommend tavern on the point for any event!“

“I really love this spot! It’s right in Elmwood Park, so it’s close to home, which is so much better than having to go far for places that are similar. This establishment is two awesome places in one! On one side, you have a bar, TVs and the whole cocktail bar feel. On the other side it’s an extremely lovely European American restaurant! The restaurant is amazing! The food is so good and you wouldn’t expect it out of a restaurant/bar. The spinach and artichoke dip is one of the best that I’ve had because you can tell that it is not store-bought, and that it’s made there! Delicious! They calamari really surprised me though because of how well it was breaded and fried. I have officially put calamari on my list as one of the best in Chicago. The main courses that I tried were super good as well. The Zuppa di Mare/seafood pasta was so elegant and flavorful made with a black pasta, so not only was it good to eat, it was beautiful to look at as well. The cheesecake was the perfect ending to everything. What was surprising though the drinks! They have a cocktail list that you have to try! My two favorite drinks were the P*rnstar and Indigo. They were so good! The indigo was so good that you could barely taste the alcohol, and the flavors were yummy! Try them!!! I was there on a Friday and at around 9 o’clock. Karaoke started with disco lights, and it was super cool. I’d highly recommend this place for a night out where you can enjoy really good food, good drinks, and karaoke! Head here for a great time with friends and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

“Absolutely delicious! We ordered delivery from New Era. Food arrived quick and HOT! I ordered the Steak Huarache, my partner ordered a chicken quesadilla. He said it was the BEST quesadilla he’s ever had. Homemade tortillas, melty cheese, seasoned chicken - YUM! I had honestly never heard of a huarache until this restaurant opened. I had to try it - it was phenomenal! So delicious and full of flavor! Their red and green salsa is amazing! Definitely will order again and look forward to visiting in person!“
