“Showed up late on a Saturday night around 820, and they seemed to have already all cleaned up for the night. I'd asked if they closed at 830 or 9, and they said 9, even tho they turned the sign to closed at 830. We ordered being the only ones in there, felt awkward as we could tell they were annoyed we were there and they were cleaning an moping around us, but the food was excellent none the less. The server was good and nice, just maybe if your going to close a half hour before your supposed to, then next time just let us know as we felt we needed to rush and mildly uncomfortable. Will come again at an earlier time as the food was very very good. Like an upscale waffle house.“

“We thought we would try Jubelt's Bakery & Restaurant since they are on the old Route 66 which I adore. The food was pretty good. We really liked the steak fries. When you place your order and pay at the counter, they'll ask for your table number, so be sure to have that in mind before you order. Make the table is unoccupied! Their bakery case will filled with amazing pastries and desserts, we didn't try any of them.
In May 1922, three brothers—Paul, Fred, and Albert Jubelt—purchased a bakery in the coal mining town of Mount Olive, Illinois, where bread was the main focus. They put in a lot of effort and found success. Sadly, Albert passed away in 1929, prompting Fred to launch a second bakery in Granite City. By 1935, the partnership ended, and Paul took over the Mount Olive bakery on his own. They decided to open a bakery in Litchfield which has been around for a long time. #route66“

“We just had a wonderful experience at Ruby Tuesday’s. They appeared to be short staffed but despite that we still received our food in a very timely manner and received exceptional service from Andrea! The entire staff really looked like they were working together to get things done!“

“We stopped in on Sunday 3/16/2025 on way home from Springfield. I saw tablecloths and cloth napkins thought we would be out of place. Far from it. From the hostess, to waitress, bus boys made everyone feel so welcome. I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was so good, friendly, knowledgeable. Fried chicken was awesome, as was my husband's chicken fried steak, soup and salad bar. So to the very pretty young lady with the long wavy hair thank you for making us feel so welcome, making fresh coffee and never letting cup get empty. We would drive the 100 miles from home again to eat here. From the old biker with beard and wife with the crutch.“

“This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. We walked in and were not greeted. Not a big deal. I ordered a pinot noir and it tasted like straight vinegar. I let the server know and asked for a busch light instead. We both ordered the tbone special for the night and was told it was $24. Mine was overcooked and my husbands was undercooked while both ordered medium. Also the tbones were missing the filet side of the steaks completely. They were definitely not the 16 ounces as advertised. I also ordered marsala sauce for my steak and didnt get it. My husband substituted fries for his salad and when we got the bill his fries were $7.75 additional. They charged us for the bad wine. The special was actually $33 each. When I mentioned it when getting the bill she said the owner said to leave the wine on the bill and the prices must have gone up. Terribly disappointed and will never go back.“
