“HUGE shout out to our amazing Fairlane Diner! Last night on our way home from a basketball game in Nokomis we decided to call and order Fairlane Diner for dinner. We did not realize they closed at 8pm and had dialed the phone at 7:55pm, the friendly woman answering the phone politely took our order and it was hot and fresh when we arrived at 8:15pm! “I had a host of family come visit from out of town. I ordered 50 piece wings from California Kitchen, it came with fries and 2 cans of pop. I was told 15 minutes for pick up and did not check the food prior to leaving. The chicken was fried very hard and wasn't good. I didn't call until the next morning and spoke to a manager. The manager was pleasant and very understanding. I was able to bring back the chicken from the previous day and recieved a full new 50 piece meal for my visiting family. He even asked if I wanted to keep the order that was messed up. Amazing customer service and the food was really good. I would always order from them, they really know how to treat their customers!! The new location is great too!.“

“Been coming to Cook’s since I worked across the street at camp Lincoln years upon years ago. Went back today for the first time in several years. The quality, freshness, quick, and friendly service was EXACTLY how I remember. Their whole grain bread is to die for. I don’t get to this side of town as often as I used to, but it is absolutely worth stopping in. Definitely one of Springfield’s hidden gems!“

It was so delicious and had that sweet nostalgia of the days when you’d buy a plate from a friend and sit around the table way too long. We ordered the fried chicken breast dinners with cabbage, mashed potatoes & brown gravy, plus red beans and rice with cornbread on the side. The egg rolls we had as an appetizer were just as impressive, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. What really stood out, though, was the service. Victoria Hall was fantastic. Even though I’m not a wine drinker, she took the time to explain the wines and menu in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming. “Absolutely amazing food, coffee, and service. I am in a wheelchair and took my 19 year old son in for breakfast on a Saturday. He got the XL cinnamon roll and a cinnamon latte and I got a sausage fritatta and a chocolate cherry latte. When we arrived there was someone waiting to get the door for us and once we ordered and sat down, everything was brought out to our table. There was a 20 minute wait on the cinnamon roll but boy was it worth it. We will definitely be back again and I will be recommending this place to everyone I know. 🥰💜“

“We called same day after a catering service did not show up to provide lunch for the team of volunteers who was helping to clean up at the animal shelter that was impacted by the tornado. The store only had 3 staff but didn’t hesitate to immediately help create catering boxes for over 75 people in less than an hour. They were so friendly and incredibly impactful to the work we were doing. Can’t say thank you enough!! What a great community partner!“

“We love Gyro Stop. The food never disappoints and the staff is great. But if you close at a certain time, that should mean you close at that time. I tried to call in an order 45 minutes before close, which I think is reasonable. I got a recording that said they prefer online orders. Great! So do I. Nope. They stop taking those an hour before close. Called again and the recording gave me the options and I selected to speak to someone to place an order and was placed on hold. After a minute or so, I was told they couldn't take my call and to try again in 5-10 minutes. I decided to just go in and place it. Nope. Door was locked 30 minutes before close. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. I've worked in the service industry so I am very understanding of the employees' time but if you say you're open until 7 (this was a Saturday), then stay open until 7.“

“Food was good but kinda cold when it came out. Not worth asking to have it reheated as it took 75 minutes for us to get our food. They seem to have a lot of outdoor seating but only one kitchen makes all the food? If they have multiple kitchens, then I dont understand why food was so slow to come out. I had bbq pulled pork sandwich which was dry, as there was a scant dollop of bbq sauce on bun.

“We truly had a good experience here we ordered food at around three and it came pretty late. It came out about four but our server his name was. Jeff was very good and he gave us dessert to compensate for the wait time. this was a great experience and the steak was one of the most tender steaks I’ve ever eaten. Jeff was the real reason why our experience was great thank you Jeff and thank you Longhorn and thank you again Jeff and if I was longboard, I’d give Jeff a big race cause he’s really the hardest working server in there.

“We went there for lunch on Sunday, the food was OK. Nothing to brag about but not bad either. However, when I checked my bank statement I seen the waitress tacked on an extra $4 tip for herself After we left her a $20 tip in cash on a $65.69 tab. I always write cash in the tip area of the receipt for this reason but she still did it! So watch your receipts, they have at least one dishonest waitress!!“
