“My family of 7 was there unannounced on a Friday Afternoon and was very impressed with the service and meal. We all ordered off the menu each with different menu food items, the orders came out correct and the meals each were delivered in a very nicely prepared arrangement. “Went here for lunch. Friendly staff, there was a bit of a wait, but we were seated quickly. Even for being busy, our server was attentive. I can't say I was impressed with the taste of the food. Big portion sizes, though. My chicken sandwich was just sloppy, dry dispite hot sauce, and the breading was thin and not very tasteful. I've seen great breakfast reviews though, so maybe I just got the wrong thing.“
“The pot roast taste just like how my grandma used to make it. Personally, I have never had one thing bad from here. I love that they have Ski soda. Homemade food in 5 minutes. Some may think that it is pricey but it is worth it. A Must Try!!“
“Good BBQ for a good price.We're Outside is off the beaten path, but it is easy to find. It's just a little shed and you order at one window from the outside and pick your food up at the next window. They have a huge patio if you want to eat on location, but it is not pet friendly.I 'm a fan of Pork Steaks, so that is what I ordered on my first visit. It was fork tender, I could pull off a bite without using a knife. The flavor was good and not over sauced. All their side dishes are housemate and delicious. My sides were; Mac-n-Cheese and Potato Salad. The Mac-n-Cheese was rich and creamy, but for me it needed more pepper (easy fix). My Potato Salad was one of the best that I have had at a BBQ joint.The young lady working the order window was friendly and answered my questions professionally. Owner is usually on site from what I have heard and he to was pleasant to talk with.This location is convenient for me and I'll probably become a regular. So, when you go to give it a try, we may cross paths.“
“We had a 5 star expense at Bluff City Grill. The food was excellent. We had 6 in our party and everyone thought what they ordered was very, very good. The salads were fresh and well prepared. Sandwiches were also great. Two of us got the wings and they were perfectly cooked, crispy and delicious. They have a large variety of sides including three different vegetables.The service was outstanding friendly and efficient. We can’t wait to go back.“
“We have been going to Gentelin's for about 10 years and the food is consistently excellent. My wife and I were there last night and we both had the filet mignon. I also ordered a crab stuffed portabella mushroom to complement my steak. Talk about YUM! Ryan is the owner and chef, and he takes personal ownership in maintaining the outstanding quality of the food. He also has a special talent of bringing together the right ingredients to make each menu item wonderful. A recent example is the Crabmeat Stuffed Chicken - to die for! The salads are also very good and they offer a $5.00 appetizer from time to time, last night's was Philly Cheesesteak wontons, yummy and very creative! The food always comes out in a timely manner and is always the right temperature. They also have a very good beer, wine, and drink selection too. Ryan has assembled a GREAT team and Beth is our regular server. She is outstanding, professional, and very attentive to our needs. We have had other servers when Beth isn't there and they too are top notch. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the Mississippi river for added ambience. This establishment is kid friendly, but most adults choose family time here during the day or dinner. “Our first visit to Alton, IL and my wife and I found State Street Market. The food is fantastic, Erin served us and her recommendations were spot on for our tastes. “The perfect cozy little place that takes you back in time. The staff are very kind and helpful. The food is well priced, especially with all of the inflation. It is a comfortable atmosphere with Good people working in good people eating, they do carry out orders as well.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu though. The staff is also very kind and willing to accommodate any requests to make changes to fit any dietary requests.Dietary restrictions: There is an option for about everything on the menu at this cozy little place with a lovely staff that are willing to make you your own desired dish of description that may not be on the menu with what they have available.Parking: There is a spacious parking lot in front of the diner and also parking areas around, though never have seen it needed to use.Kid-friendliness: The staff are very friendly and have seen them go above and beyond with children in the diner so I would definitely say it is kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: As someone with a disability I can say I was easily able to get into this diner, only one time I had an issue with the door when it was windy and the staff came and helped me.“

“This place gives the mom and pop restaurant feel. Comfortable and kind of small. I ordered a waffle, bacon and scrambled cheese. Everything I ordered was good. My friend ordered beef hash, hash browns and scrambled eggs. He was happy with his meal as well. Prices were reasonable. You pay your bill at the front register. That area gets a little congested as it's also where people enter and wait to be seated. The staff was nice. I recommend giving this place a try.“

“Called ahead and took 16 people. They sat us in the front dining room. We were noisy so it was a good place for us so we didn’t bother diners in main dining area. Everything was set up when we arrived. Menus were given to us and I looked it over. There was several good things to pick from. Would I get the catfish and fries? A Lenten special there’s about 8 long strips rolled in probably Andy’s seasoning. Definitely cornmeal based. It was fried perfectly. Flaky white fish. Crunchy on outside. Piles on rye bread and sharing the plate with french fries. The fries were crinkle fries, and they were fried perfectly as well. Accompanying it was a wonderful Italian salad with h fresh veggies. I started the meal with wings h fresh hot coffee and fresh crispy cold water. Finished with Diet Pepsi since they have only Pepsi products. While waiting they provide pub cheese and crackers. Some people had the famous grilled tenderloin. It came with rye also. Some had cod and some had white fish. Don’t know what it was but everyone said it was good. One person had a pony shoe and the cheese fries looked awesome. Have never had dessert here because we’re always full. They do have cold draft beer which I love. Waitress was nice. Was it perfect? No. Cups are plastic. I never like that. Salad came with the meal. Had to wait for condiments, but it was all minor and we loved it and would do it again.“

“Stopped by here for breakfast. Have eaten here a few times over the past couple of years. My wife use to eat here when her grandparents lived down the road. Inside is nicely decorated for a old style inn feeling. Was greeted as we walked in and told to sit where we wanted. Staff was friendly and the food was good. While we were eating one of the waitresses, not ours, decided that she needed to fill the jelly holders on everyone's table that was there eating. Ours was missing only three jelly containers. Didn't really understand the urgency for that since it was sitting by my plate of food. Overall it was a nice visit, our waitress was friendly and we will definitely go back again.“
