Needing a coffee on a 4 hour drive to Shawnee National Forest, we stopped at Scooter’s to survive our early drive. It’s a drive-thru only coffeehouse so I strongly debated even writing a blog post for it but in my quest to visit all the coffee places, I knew I had to make the concession and experience it from the drive-thru lane and passenger seat of Emily’s car.

They had an Americano so… you can bet that’s exactly what I ordered and it did not disappoint. I love a strong bitter Americano and a lot of places err on the side of making it accessible and enjoyable. This was full on the style I like and if there was one around where I live, I would be getting my Americano drinks there instead of making my usual Dunkin’ run when I treat myself. I did try the concoction Emily tried and we both agreed that it was missing a certain something. Not that it was bad but that it just lacked that thing to make it magical.

But… the best part of Scooter’s is the opening line of this blog. When we placed our order, the person told us to ‘Go ahead and scoot on up’. Maybe it was the 4 hours of sleep I got. Maybe it’s my sometimes simple and childish-like humor. Maybe it’s just a great line. But it had me cracking up for a few minutes.

Scooter’s, you have a new loyal fan if you ever open up a place near me.“

“I stopped by yesterday and had one of the best mocha lattes in my life! We also shared the shortbread cookies, French pastry, and apple cider doughnut. (We couldn't pick just one 😋) Everything was fantastic! I highly recommend Schlee’s!“

Recently, I really enjoyed the pumpkin chipotle soup and veggie open faced sandwich ( I can’t remember the official name). We also got three deserts and all were amazing! “This is the BEST Starbucks I have been too and I order coffee ALOT. The staff is amazing, the drinks are amazing. Like when I say amazing I don't want to order from any other Starbucks! I don't know if they are just really good at making coffee or if it's the time and care they put into it but I have yet to find a Starbucks that makes better drinks than the one in Kroger! The ladies that work there are flat out amazing! SO anyway if your trying to choose which Starbucks to go to, make the drive to the one in Taylorville they are far better than any other location I have ever been to !“

“Literally the best chicken fingers and fries I've ever had. The fries were perfectly seasoned and the chicken tenders had amazingly flaky crust. The meat was melt in your mouth not stringy. The strawberry rhubarb margarita was delicious. If you're in Springfield come here to eat!“

“It was a comfortable experience. All the machines are separated by clear partitions and the person working that day was so nice. She immediately greeted my friend and I the offered us drinks. The is a large variety of drink options ranging from alcohol to softdrinks and more. The sodas come free and gratuity is appreciated. She was very modest to accept a tip. I absolutely loved this experience and I will be returning again one day.NOTE: There is also a comfortable seating area equipped with a television.“

“love the lotus drinks! but the customer service not so much... I am aware I came through the drive thru at 540.. you close at 6. I was not the only customer though...there were 2 other cars. The young girl who was working the window,clearly, was not happy.. it was written all over her face.. not one half of a smile.. I am by myself and ordered 3 drinks, I have 2 cup holders, so I ask if there was a drink carrier, she nodded and closed the window, opened the window back up to get the drink that she had given me first to put back into the carrier, I said sorry for bothering you with that since she yet again had an attitude. she says absolutely nothing and hands me my drinks and shuts the window. It was a very cold interaction, my only guess is because I came through so close to closing time.. I am so very excited to have Haes come to sherman but I sure hope those kind of attitudes dont come with it.“

“This Clear lake location is the only one I will go to in Springfield. The staff have always been friendly and the food is pretty consistently fresh. My favorite is the sweet tea, made just right. I will also go out of my way to go to the Taylorville McDonald's!

As far as the other Springfield and Chatham locations, the employees need a lesson on work ethic and food service. The food is cold and fries cold and are always warmed over. And they are RUDE!
That's the result of pure laziness.
The Archer Elevator location....awful. THE STAFF IS RUDE!
I even refuse to go the the Chatham location!
It's pretty bad when the majority of the McDonald's here have such bad service.
Time for a major review by the ownersof their restaurants, I'd say.“

“I did a mobile order (& paid in-app) & as I was going through the drive thru to pick it out, a circuit blew. All their screens and half the machines stopped working. I couldn't cancel my order and order at a new place. I went inside and immediately Brian figured out what I ordered and got it for me, free of cost. Amazing service & handling in an unexpected electrical mishap situation.“
