“I just went there to have a meeting with a coworker and absolutely loved the service and the atmosphere. The empanada was still frozen when they served it to me but the server was so kind and gentle and immediately gave me another one that was well cooked and didn’t charge me for the wait and inconvenience. I call that consideration and good business practice! Will be back again!!”

“Before I let you read review, this s*** happened last night.Only probably I noticed was this straight up d*** bish, they said her names mary; this guy was trying to help a dog and got it water, this d*** cunx was like blocking the dog from getting water, so i saw him get it spilled on him . Well he got kick out for trying to be considerate btw, he's one of the best singers around, but she is one of the most obnoxious cunx I've met in a long time, just her voice was worse than nails on a chalkboard going over and over in headphones like they should just use her voice as a torcher device to get people to talk because I was actually happy the night was over so I could leave and I hope i never hear that bishs voice again... I'd been happy if cops thought I was drunk... You get arrested and then she shows up on the women's floor and you go to play basketball in lake co jail and you'd hear her floors up and be like awe fuk me... Ok, now you're in hell.For what it is, for the most part, you will treated well, and you will most likely get get along with everyone. The tenders are fun and diligent, so you usually don't have to wait for a drink except when it's crowded; what can you expect when they are the only place still open... People are really friendly, and they have some good karaoke singers often come through. I like the place. They have food too and gaming and billiar tables. It's actually a really fun place to go.”

“Cute small restaurant off Rt 134 in Round Lake with excellent margaritas and delicious food. Got the Mexican Eggs breakfast and it was perfect! Eggs not runny or over cooked, more than enough for the 4 tortillas provided. Generous portion so I am bringing some home! Yummy on the rocks strawberry margarita with plenty of strawberries 🍓 floating in it. Several lime slices and an orange in the traditional margarita. Would recommend and we will definitely be back to try the $1.99 tacos on Tuesdays. 😁👍”

“Highly recommend trying Merienda’s. I went there based on a recommendation from a friend. Loved the vibe, mom/pop, cute restaurant, with a lot of delicious options. Tried the spicy shrimp with garlic rice, pancit, ube latte with oat milk, pink calamansi lemonade, & mango cheesecake. Delicious! Will definitely go back to try other dishes. Very reasonably priced for the portion size. The guy at the register was friendly & enthusiastic with helping us select our entree.”

“I just had the lovely experience sitting with a family friend for coffee. I got a lavender bloom and it was by far the best coffee I’ve ever had. I love coffee. It tasted like coffee and the perfect amount of sweet. If you know you know. There were rocking chairs on the porch that were occupied when I arrived but the back seating was intimate and comfy. The walls are lined with local artist exhibits for sale. I have my eyes on one that I plan to purchase when I come back. I look forward to buying more delicious coffee and to see what new Art is displayed. This place gets it. A part of the reemergence if you will. I wish for this place to stay authentic and hope they get just enough business but not too much if you know what I mean. It is a diamond in the rough. It needs to be beloved and protected. “We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. Prices were very reasonable and our service was exceptional. Excellent dining experience all around. Highly recommend.”

“I took my boys here on a Saturday at around 4:30 after a trip to the Volo museum. We were immediately greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive waitress. The appetizer plate had the best onion rings and these creamy smoky bacon Gouda Mac n cheese bites that were to die for! Pan pizza came out as a deep dish and my teenager loved it. My oldest and I got the rib and broasted chicken combo…. OMG No regrets! The chicken was seasoned well with a delicious, crispy, light breading and the ribs were fall off the bone scrumptious with a perfect smoky/sweet bbq sauce. Do NOT skip the peach cobbler!! The warm, crispy peaches and streusel topping tasted like it was made with love. What a great place and we absolutely love our server. She was engaging and knew the menu. Will definitely return!”

It is so tender it melts in your mouth. The owner is a great kibbitzer and makes you feel welcome, even if the line is long, he will be sure to get a sample out to you. “Got the half fried, half sauced whole chicken. Super generous with the sauce, which I loved. Wouldn’t take off any points for the taste; it was solid.
The woman at the front taking orders was really kind and helpful, which made the experience even better.
Only downside, while I was waiting in my car, I saw one of the kitchen staff come out to smoke with gloves still on. Not sure if they changed them before cooking again, but it wasn’t the best look.”
