“Came in with a friend who had never had boba before. The owner(?) recommended her a flavor and offered to make her a different kind if she didn't like it. She had brown sugar, I had taro, and my wife had a caramel latte boba. All were delicious! We also got the mini pancake bites which were fantastic. The owner(?) was super nice and gave us free water as well. If it wasn't a 40 minute drive for us we would be here all the time!“

Not just pierogi ---Gelato, soups, empanadas, tamales, pizza pie (takes 50 mins to make from scratch and worth it!!) Premium Belgium chocolates, shakes, Coffee and most recent.....160 (yes one hundred and sixty) different premium teas from around the world!!.....and more to come! They also own the tea room and book store next to the cafe. Owners are THE BEST! Welcoming, personable and humorous. Dinning outside available and pups are welcome! For example, it would be helpful if they brought water to the table right away, rather than guests having to ask for it. Additionally, more frequent check-ins would enhance the experience, especially since there isn’t a bell to signal staff like in other Korean bars. “Portage Grounds is my favorite local coffee shop! The staff are awesome, the coffee is great, and the shop itself is welcoming. They have a cozy couch spot by the fireplace, individual window stools if you prefer to work solo, and even a conference room if you want to hang with a group. Cute little outdoor patio as well. Great location. Can't speak on the food as I've never eaten there.

Parking: Parking is difficult here simply because it's on Irving Park next to the park and the gym. Sometimes you can find a spot but often the closest option is illegal/flasher parking, or over a block away“

This most recent visit I tried a double smashburger with smash peppers, spicy chopped cheese, and onion rings. The burger was probably the best smashburger I ever had, the beef and bun tasted really fresh, burger patties were crispy and seasoned, and the sauce went really well with it. The chopped cheese was really good, and onion rings were crispy, hot, and seasoned. Highly recommend this place. Everything I've had there is good.“

We even got a complimentary meal from the Executive Chef so he didn’t waste the plate after taking pictures of his new special. To say the food was amazing is an understatement. There were so many flavors and they all blended so dang well. They even had some unique beer option that we brought home. If your down in the Chicago area or willing to make the trip, it’s definitely worth it“

“Having recently moved near the area, I finally decided to check this place out. I absolutely love trying new boba shops, and I am thrilled that this one is so close by. Great atmosphere with cute decorations and plenty of seating. There was only one worker behind the counter at the time who greeted me as soon as I walked in. She was so sweet and made my drink very quickly.

As for the boba itself… it’s great! I got a brown sugar boba milk tea which I was glad to know was non-dairy (despite my love for all things dairy, I am lactose-intolerant. Booooo). The milk tea itself was great. For a brown sugar drink, it wasn’t too sweet at all, which I liked as I usually get my drinks with less sweetness. However, the tapioca was a little hard, a result of it either sitting out for too long or being chilled. I’m sure it would’ve been a thousand percent better with the tapioca’s real chewy texture, but I suppose I can’t complain since I walked in on a slow Wednesday afternoon.

Great shop overall, and I surely will be a regular!

“I passed by this place all the time it's super low-key too, went there yesterday with my friends had me Sinberry sour ale I think, and I also had me the orange creamsicle hard seltzer, and I'm not a big fan of hard Seltzer's, but this orange creamsicle was outstandingly good, I never had me a hard Seltzer with so much flavor, and Sinberry was decent, but the aftertaste was amazing, the female bartender that was back there was very nice and very professional, she would always check if everything was good and that we had everything we needed, or if we needed anything more, overall good experience and good service, will definitely come back here with my friends if not myself to try the $14 testers“

a couple cakes for some family birthday parties, and one very special unicorn cake for my toddler’s birthday. I walked in, described what I was looking for, and every cake I ordered turned out so much better than I could have imagined! The cakes were all absolutely beautiful and DELICIOUS! Kids and adults alike kept raving about them - and the process couldn’t have been easier. This baker is a gem to work with and he makes some very good baked goods. Wouldn’t think twice about going back, and recommended it to everyone at the party. Plus, he’s less than half the cost of some of these “designer” bakers out there - and it was SUCH a beautiful cake!!
