I grew up in Evanston and never tried this diner until recently. I walked in and told them it was my first time and the nice lady with glasses broke down the menu for me and described the places history and what they’re known for. I felt very happy with their customer service. Not only did all the workers have smiles, they made sure the food was hot and fresh and handed to me with a smile too. I ordered the burger buddy and pastrami sandwich meals and they were both 11/10!...read full review

Allergy and celiac friendly. Some vegan options. Great old school high quality hot dogs. Unique retro home town and family shop vibes. They know their customers and take care of them personally if needed. My out of town family AND friends always schedule it into their chicago trips. Ken and Danny are caring heroes, too.
