“I've come here quiet a few times and various hours and no matter how busy they have been they always provide exceptional service. The food is not overpriced but good down home breakfast food. Its a small thing but when you order something that's on the menu with a photo that is the exact dish you are getting. I highly recommend Waffles Pancake House if you are in the area“

“I always love coming here & frequently do when I want a good hearty meal or bringing friends. We are always kindly greeted & welcomed when arriving. It smells wonderful & makes us more hungry! We are served a cup of soup (gratis) with every meal including breakfast (their soups are delicious). The staff is friendly & always accommodating. Our food is served hot in generous proportions & for the price (very reasonable compared to other restaurants of this kind), it can’t be beat. “First time Golden Bear in Lansing. The food and service was great. However, when I checked my bank account I was charged $9.98 more then the amount on the receipt I received from the register. When I went back the manager was very nice & helpful. She refunded the $. The restaurant receipt had the same amount. I pulled up my bank account & showed her the amount from my bank. We both thought it was so strange! Maybe the register malfunctioned? Again the manager was awesome!“

In Wisconsin there’s a similar restaurant called Maxfield’s Pancake House that has food of similar quality and portions. If you’re a Wisconsiner who likes Maxfield’s Pancake House and you’re looking for a good meal in Illinois, I highly recommend Skyline!

“This place was very nice: clean, peaceful atmosphere, good food options. I take it that this is a place that is under new management/ownership with the name change to Mr. Stacks. Though the decor is the same the service is elevated. The food was good: served hot, fresh ingredients, tasty. The service was excellent: Alicia was very attentive, cordial, easy going. She checked on my numerous times during my short visit.“

“I have only been to this restaurant once. From the outside it looks like its barely hanging on. It needs some sprucing on the outside. The interior though is classic and traditional. It has an interior that Bronzeville's Pearls Place could really use and space that Valois in Hyde Park really needs. I can also recall how good the pancakes were. I can't say much about anything else. It's been a while. My hope is that they could clean up and modernize the outside. For this they may need an infusion of cash. I believe the outside is where the business falls off a bit I mean you wouldn't even think it was open for business. Its the only place worth eating at in the whole 8th ward. The area is filled with junk food options and it's a shame. I will be back soon.“

“Riviera is a great little local diner. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is good. The prices reasonable. I've eaten there dozens of times. It's comforting, familiar and affordable.

I can tell that the staff gets along well and I'd guess that they have been working together for quite some time. They joke with each other and with the regulars. There is a lot of laughter. It creates a pleasant environment in which to sit and eat a hearty meal.

Its not fancy. It's not spectacular. It's just a good little spot with nice employees who care. And I've come to realize that it is surprisingly hard to find places like that. And they should be appreciated.“

My server, Melanie, was extremely kind and she constantly checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
