“We were looking for a breakfast place in Volo while waiting for the museum to open and this place didn't disappoint.its not much looking from the outside but the food was excellent.. we had ham off the bone ,my friend had egg pizza of some sort and it was amazing..the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Food portion was more than enough but we finished it all. The place was very clean. There's gaming too and a good size bar.. we will definitely come back for lunch next time and see what they offer..“

“We visited on Monday for brunch, so no waiting & super fast service, but this probably varies depending on when you visit. But the menu was extraordinary! Great selection of breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. We tried 2 skillets, both plentiful and full of flavor. The pancakes, sometimes an afterthought at restaurants, were especially delicious! “I've been going to Olando's for at least a decade now, and have yet to have a bad experience there. My most recent trip with my fiancee was no exception.The servers are friendly and helpful, the food is delivered quickly (even when they are busy), the portions are huge and the quality of the food is outstanding. While I've had their pizza before and really enjoyed it, I constantly find myself drawn to the "Bootie," an Italian beef sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese. It's got enough au jus in the sandwich to make it very flavorful (though next time I'll probably ask for some extra on the side, as I love sandwiches like this extra wet).My fiancee was impressed by the salad that came with her dinner, noting that it looked and tasted like it was made fresh to order. And she couldn't believe the serving size of her plate of lasagna. If there is a complaint - and I use that term very loosely - it's that there is so much good food served in the course of a meal that neither of us had room for dessert! Some day, I will sample the wares from Diana's Dream, the ice cream parlor that is part of Olando's... but for this particular visit, we left full and happy, and can't wait to visit again!July 2019“

“I had to kill some time, realized I was hangry! I stumbled across this quaint little place and I'm so happy I did. My fat self wanted biscuits and gravy which looked amazing. However my "it's almost summer" self decided on Avocado toast. It was absolutely delicious! Kiki-an adorable young gal who brightened my day was a wonderful server. I listened to her interactions with customers and everyone was laughing and smiling. It's mainly a breakfast and lunch place but they are open until 8:00 PM. I highly recommend this place.“

I called and talked to a very nice and patient manager I believe her name was Jen. We knew this was not the norm for service and food cause I’ve been ordering for 8 plus years. “Food was soooo good tried the restraunt in the back today after coworker made the recommendation and was not disappointed! 3 tacos and I was full my boyfriend had 5 and had a hard time finishing. Love the little shop growing up in Arizona there were tons of little places like this I used to frequent so finding something that reminds me of home made my day! Will definitely be back. “We played a show at the theater next to this place. Had dinner here. WOW!!!! The service was very good and friendly. But the food!! I had a huge burger with bacon, egg, and hashbrowns. It was huge and incredible. Wife had a chicken wrap, she said was incredible as well. The incredible food combined with the small town friendly atmosphere makes this place well worth the stop. I love how they "branded" the bun.“

“I didn't know so I want you to know! We were searching for a place to hold our funeral luncheon. We needing something McHenry local, good food, and could accomodate us on short notice. BuddyZ answered the call. They had a banquet room in the back with access to the patio. We had the pizza, salad, chicken fingers, mostaccioli bar. The food was brought out as soon as we arrived. There were tables of varied heights which accomodated our entire family. Carrie, Caitlyn & Kirsty were so friendly, professional and attentive.Thank you all for being there for our family when we needed you.“

“The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the ladies working here are so nice. I ordered the ginger tea and was blown away. Strong and full of flavor. This is the best ginger tea I have ever had. You can tell this is made fresh and not with a tea bag. My husband and I split the fried calamari it was perfectly cooked, chewy but not rubbery at all! My husband ordered the Thai fried rice with shrimp. He loved the flavor he just wish that they took the tails off the shrimp. He said he would definitely order it again. I had the Long Life Soup with extra Vegetables. I am normally not a fan of clear glass noodles but this soup was so delicious and I really enjoyed eating it! This restaurant is very clean, they play instrumental music and put white paper on the tables. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if your in the area.“

“Happened to be in Antioch with my daughter and stopped in The Lodge for a late lunch. I had one of the best, if not the best chicken wrap with fries. It was wrapped, then heated on the outside, delicious. My daughter had a grilled cheese with tomato with onion rings, she loved it. We were too full to eat desert, but we took a piece of homemade tiramiso with. It was a slice of heaven. Great service and wonderful food“

The staff provides just the right amount of attention, and the owner (manager?) was overlooking the dining room, checking for any requests between the waitresses' visits. We were very pleased with the food - delicious brie puffs and hot goat cheese with toasted bread disappeared in a minute, and all our entres were very good - both vegetarian and meat. Everything was fresh, well made, and appealingly presented. Mixed drinks were amazing and very well presented, too. I am not going to suggest o do anything about curb appeal mentioned in other reviews (which is non-existent) and bar area that is a bit creepy, because it looks like it works for them and they have enough customers already. Plus, if they have a better curb appeal, maybe we won't get a table next time, which eould be a bummer - cause we are definitely coming back!“

“Love this place for the fish fry. Went for lunch with mom (91 in a wheelchair). We were just before the lunch crowd so getting a table was easy. Not sure what the accommodations are for people with mobility issues. I'll Have to ask the next time we go. Luckily there was a low table available to accommodate the wheelchair. It was even nicer that right next where we sat and an arm reach away were the slots. $20 in and $68 out. Not a bad day. Oh yea..... We both enjoyed the lunch fish special, the potato pancakes were very tasty. Can I get the recipe? Our server Rory made our visit enjoyable. Just an FYI they like many others add a "CC Surcharge" (4.25%) to the bill. Pay with cash and that charge goes away.“

“We visited McHenry Brewing Company in (surprise) the town of McHenry awhile back. MBC is stationed in an historic building dating from 1868 (that's what the plaque says). Barrels have been decorated and repurposed as stools - fun! I enjoyed my fruity beer, and I hear that the root beer is good too. Interestingly enough, they have a turntable with LP's that you can play - yup real wax records. Although we did not play any of the albums, it was neat to peruse the checklist of everything in this music collection.“

“I had never been here but heard good things about the place. Finally got to try it a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The food was fantastic! I had a couple small concerns with the service, but as I said it was my first time here so I don't know what their normal is. The waitress was very attentive to start and quite friendly. After the food was delivered, she didn't stop by much. She did check once but later would have been nice for additional napkins or another drink but she didn't come around. Not sure if she was letting us enjoy our food or wasn't paying attention to us. The other concern I had is becoming more common everywhere BUT it would have been nice to be warned that there was an extra fee for using a credit card. It wasn't a ridiculous amount but it would have been nice to be told when I handed over my credit card because I could have used cash instead. Overall, a good experience and the menu has more items that sound pretty good! Might need to try it again!“

“Service is on point. Very friendly people there. The set up of the bar is awesome. The food was good and the portion sizes were perfect. My mini corn dogs were a little dark. Maybe I caught them in need to change the oil day. Prices are typical prices for a bar. Just really amazed how well that bar is taken care of inside.“

“Had some solid Mexican food here. Ordered Bistek ranchero mexicano, Chicken enchiladas, Al pastor burrito, Al pastor tacos. Everything was good sized and with good flavor. Bistek has very thin been pieces about 3/4" square in ranchero source with a fresh salid next to it, refried beans, rice and marm tortillas. It was very good. The only thing I can offer is there were many onions where there could have been a bit more tomato / tomatillo and maybe a jalepino. The burrito was carefully put together and had good flavor, the pastor was nicely flavored with a good bit a spice to it. The chicken enchiladas were good sized with a good amount of cheese also with a fresh little salad. I did not even get to the tacos yet, will have those tomorrow. Definitely a solid meal!“
