Pao Bistro Reviews
The sushi was amazing, The deviled eggs were phenomenal, and our server Gabe was charismatic, kind, and took care of us. I'm sure the whole staff is the same. I highly recommend! They have crab cakes and a pecan goat cheese salad that was unlike any salad I've ever had.
A Springfield staple that has stood the test of time. Pao Bistro offers exceptionally high quality food at a great price in stylish and classy atmosphere.
This restaurant is advertised as fine dining, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I ordered the Pao Chicken, and it resembled small pieces of orange chicken served with white rice (more like typical takeout quality than something you would expect from a fine dining establishment).
Another issue was the drinks. I ordered D’Ussé, but it tasted heavily diluted, almost as if it had been watered down. Attention to drink quality is something that should be taken...read full review

Based on the reviews, Pao Bistro presents a mixed experience. The food receives conflicting opinions; the rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes were good, and the egg rolls were delicious, but the Pao Chicken resembled small pieces of orange chicken like typical takeout. The rice dishes were compared to Panda Express but at 2-3x the price, and the deviled eggs and shrimp cocktail were just okay. Salads were rated 5/5. There were issues with menu transparency, as guests were not told about a cake fee until after eating, and the lack of sushi was not mentioned during reservation or ordering. The drinks were problematic, with one guest noting D’Ussé tasted heavily diluted. Service received praise, with mentions of a great waitress and server. However, the fine dining label was questioned due to a server wearing a black Nike hoodie and a design flaw in the men’s restroom where the faucet is too short. Loud customers also detracted from the atmosphere. Parking is available in the Gables.
