About La Mesa Modern Mexican

La Mesa Modern Mexican offers a varied dining experience with customers praising the restaurant for its exceptional Mexican dishes, particularly the birria tacos and seared Ahi Tuna tacos. The food is often described as flavorful and delicious, with large burritos that require coming hungry. The menu includes a variety of choices such as traditional guacamole, shrimp fajitas, barbacoa tacos, and steak fajitas, all of which have received positive feedback. The atmosphere is noted as an amazing spot for a date night or family gathering, featuring a lovely ambiance. The service has generally been friendly, with staff being attentive and accommodating, especially with food allergies or special requests. Drinks, particularly the customizable margaritas, have been well-received. However, some customers have found the spice level of the food inconsistent at times.

Recent reviews highlight that while the appetizers, like carne asada fries, may not always meet expectations, the restaurant is well-decorated and serves good food and cocktails. The fajitas and shrimp appetizers are recommended, although desserts have disappointed some customers, particularly with the heavy use of whipped cream. Service has received high praise, with staff members like Moe being described as exceptional and attentive. Guests have enjoyed trying different margaritas, including the Mango Habanero Margarita and the Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita, though one frozen option was noted to lack flavor. Overall, La Mesa Modern Mexican continues to be a lively and welcoming environment, popular among those seeking flavorful Mexican cuisine.
