J W Hollstein's Saloon is a popular hangout spot known for its good food and friendly staff. The menu offers a variety of plates and appetizers, with standout items including wings, Taco Trios, and pizza, especially on Free Pizza Fridays. The back patio is a designated smoking area and has a private bar that can be rented. While the bar food can be pricey, portion sizes are generous. The staff, including bartenders like Madison, are praised for their service and pleasant personalities. Parking is available in a community lot behind the restaurant and sometimes in the Metra lot across the street. The restaurant could improve on clearing tables before bringing out food. Music is always playing, making it a lively atmosphere.
