“When I used to live in West Chicago a couple of years ago, my fiancé now husband and I used to go there all the time and his Uncle Mike. I recommend this place 100%, the drinks are good, the bartenders are friendly, and the Viper Burger was our favorite. Alan is an awesome guy with a great sense of humor. The atmosphere is chill, welcoming and you'll have a great time. When I say to stop by The Bunker, I mean it lol 😃. Whenever we are in town again, we are definitely going to try stopping by. 😌✨“

“Great bar and great food. The wings are very good, wet or dry, there are a lot of options, I usually go with the Cajun dry rub.. Bingo is Wednesday night and a lot of fun, plus the wings are half off that day. Burgers are excellent. Jackie is fun and is always lively. Good people there too. And some slots if you’re into that.“

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! Thanks for making our wedding the best day of our lives(: not to mention EVERY guest couldn’t stop talking about how fun the venue was and there was something for everyone to do, wiffleball, volleyball, giant beer pong, bags, dancing, and more! “Geneva ale House, good food, good staff/service, great beer selections. An ever changing beer menu with a nice of local and standard beers. Go during lunch for a more 1 on 1 friendly atmosphere. They also have some hard liquor that you don't see at some of the other bars“

“We have always enjoyed VT but this was poorly managed. We came in on a Wednesday and ask to sit at a booth. The booth they sat us at was right next to a party they had going on. And people were standing right at the edge of the booth and was extremely loud. Why they didn't put the party separated in the empty section by the bar would be more appropriate. It seems they were over the limit on the one side. So we asked to move to a booth that was empty. They said we couldn't move to that booth as it wasn't open. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.“

“We had a fantastic experience yesterday at Up North Ale House. Our server, Alex, was wonderful. She was attentive and engaging without being intrusive, and she was very good about making sure we had everything we needed at all time. The food was well prepared, tasty and at the right temperature. And the only reason I gave the 4 stars instead of a 5 for the ambience is because we're really not sports bar kind of people, but there was nothing wrong with what we saw. It was clean and everything appeared well kept up. Tons of screens if that is your thing. Overall, we had a great visit.“

Still though, 2+ hours of live music and dancing is worth it to me given the atmosphere.“

The filet steak salad is my newest obsession, the portions are generous, most especially for what they charge. If you're a smoker, the outside bar is ideal because you can smoke to your heart's content while eating and drinking. All the bartenders are AWESOME and the bathrooms are quite nice. I've never been let down eating here!“

I've been there about a year ago and had a good experience. I won't be going back. the waitress got the order wrong as well. Zero stars this time around. unfortunately there won't be a next time.“
