“Always phenomenal bbq and ambiance! The owners are fantastic and always appreciate their customers. Have tried everything on the menu several times and have yet to have something I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. If you get the chance definitely attend one of their beer/bourbon/bbq dinners..super fun and delicious experience!“
“My wife and I randomly discovered this place, and it didn't disappoint! We were hoping to find a chill spot to grab a drink with low-key vibes, and this was exactly the place we were looking for. They have fantastic beer, easy-going nature, and it just feels like a place you want to hang. They have an awesome array of board games which we love, and took part in. We had to cut the night short but it was a spot we could have stayed for hours. We now know exactly where to hit up next time we go to Highwood!“
“Beer On The Wall is a true beer lover's paradise, boasting an extensive selection of beer varieties that left me in awe. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the sheer diversity of options available. What particularly thrilled me was their remarkable collection of sours, especially the smoothie sours. It's a rarity to find such a wide range of sour beers, and Beer On The Wall exceeded my expectations in this regard. What sets this place apart is not only the diversity of beer but also the emphasis on local breweries. Their dedication to featuring local craft breweries adds an authentic and community-driven touch to the experience. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore and support the talent of the region while enjoying some of the best sours, including my personal favorite, smoothie sours.Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking to expand your palate, Beer On The Wall is the place to be. Their extensive selection and focus on local breweries make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and flavorful beer experience.“

“Wow. I can’t believe I hadn’t been to this place before tonight after walking by it so many times in Highwood. This may be my new favorite tapas place. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the service was excellent.First, they brought out bread and a heavily seasoned olive oil dip (garlic, salt, paprika, yumminess!). The patatas bravas were flavorful and perfectly roasted. However, my favorite dish was the hot garlic shrimp. I would have just drank the sauce it was so good.Oh, and I’m glad we got the plantanas dessert. It was perfectly portioned sautéed bananas, a little bit of vanilla ice cream and the most ridiculous sea salted caramel sauce. Amazingly rich.“

“I have been wanting to go to a pancake breakfast for quite some time, pre-pandemic. Don't ask me why; I'm weird, I guess? Anyway, this weekend I headed to this AL post in Arlington Heights because I saw they were having one. There were lots of folks there--it's popular! For $10 ($5 for kids & veterans) there's eggs, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. Water, orange juice, and coffee as well. I think it's advertised as all you can eat and they did have quite a lot of food when I got there around 11:10. It was very good, folks were friendly, and I'd go again. There's a good deal of parking along the surrounding streets so that wasn't a problem. They host this breakfast once monthly from 9 am - noon, so I may be back soon.“

“04/04/2024After my son's Navy Boot Camp graduation, he expressed to me and his dad that he was in need of a fat, juicy, and delicious hamburger with some SWINE on it, lol. He stated that he was tired of the military food that he had to endure during basic training. I found this restaurant on Yelp and I'm so glad that I did.Upon entering this establishment, we were greeted by one of the friendliest hostesses that I've ever encountered. She asked if we preferred a table or a booth and I was happy that she gave us the choice on where we would like to be seated. She handed us the menus and told us to enjoy our visit. Next, our server came over and introduced herself as Angelica. She was also friendly and welcoming. Angelica exercised great customer service skills and professionalism. Moreover, for our drinks, my son ordered a lemonade, hubby ordered an Arnold Palmer, and I ordered a White Sangria cocktail and a Golden Honey Margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim. We all enjoyed our drinks, especially me, lol. The White Sangria was refreshing and bubbly. I think I liked it more that the Golden Honey Margarita, which was also tasty. As for our food, we started out with some appetizers while we browsed the menu. We started off with the spicy shrimp and the crab fondue. Although they were not spicy at all, I absolutely loved the spicy shrimp appetizer! They were flavorful and fried to perfection with a nice crunch to them and drizzled with a red sauce. The crab fondue tasted amazing and would have tasted even better if I did not have to play tug-of-war with the toasted bread that it was accompanied by. That bread was so darn hard that I felt like I was going to pull my teeth out from all the pulling and tugging, which discouraged me from fully enjoying this appetizer. I let my son and my husband have at the crab fondue while I stuck with the spicy shrimp, lol. My son was so hungry for some food other than military food that he didn't seem to notice how hard the bread was. He and my husband devoured every bit of it, lol.Now for our main entrees, my son knew right away which burger he wanted as he looked at the menu. Remember he stated he wanted a burger with some SWINE on it? Well, there was a Bacon Cheese Burger sitting on the menu with his name written all over it. My husband is a burger lover as well, but chose a burger without the swine, the City Works Burger. I ordered something a little on the healthier side, pan seared salmon accompanied by a mixture of vegetables which included butternut squash, Brussel sprouts, tomatoes, and corn. We all enjoyed our food to the upmost. Everything was absolutely delicious! My son said that his bacon cheeseburger was soooo good and that the bacon was nice and crispy. My husband said that his burger was divine. They were both so fat-full by the end of our son's celebration meal and were sitting slumped over in their seats, lol. The salmon on my entree was cooked to perfection, possessing a moist and flaky interior with a juicy and tender texture. The vegetables were as equally as delicious as the salmon.Overall, City Works is a lively establishment with a vibrant and energetic ambiance that serves great tasting modern American cuisine. It is centered in the Mellody Farm Shopping Complex of Milwaukee Ave. in Vernon Hills. They are fully equipped with several large HDTV's which is great for sports fans and such. Customer service is amazing. I highly recommend them for anyone who is from out of town visiting the Chicago area. You will definitely find delicious and excellent quality food here! Thanks for making my son's graduation celebration dinner an awesome dining experience. We felt right at home! It was as if we never left Houston.“

“It was our first time at Rep’s we didn’t know what to expect. The atmosphere was a bit dead but we did go on the weekday, no biggie. Our first impression was not very optimistic. Then we tried the food. The first bite was delicious. They have good portions. Honestly it did surprised me, had a good chuckle and couldn’t deny the Smile on my face. The staff was very friendly and attentive so overall it was a good experienced.“

“Came here on a Sunday night after work. This was my first time coming here. I like the vibe from this place. A great place to just chill with friends and have a drink. We ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. We ended up ordering drinks and a couple of appetizers. We ordered the hot honey chicken sliders, pub sliders and boneless wings. Everything was so delicious. Our favorite was the hot honey chicken sliders. They also had golf simulators in the restaurant which we'll try the next time.“

“The energy and vibe at night is really high. The bar is full and there is lots of seating. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender right away. My husband ordered a Guinness Draught Stout and it was really delicious (not bitter at all) and I just had a sip of his and just drank some water. I am not really healthy enough to have an entire beer. When we ate here last time we signed up for the rewards program called 360 and on this visit we get a free pepperoni or cheese pizza. We also ordered the Chips, Pico, and Queso as an appetizer. (It was just ok this time... the chips were stale) They play uplifting music in the background that makes you want to get up and dance. There are 12+ TV's all across the room tuned into the different popular sports channels. This is a great place to come and unwind or people watch. We love the beer and pepperoni pizza! Will definitely be back again soon!“

“Our wait staff Erica is the best!!! The bam bam shrimp was too tough this time, and came on a big white plate that was way too big for this dish. On the other hand, someone's salad came on a very small dish. Maybe there was a change in kitchen staff? Also, i stopped ordering the homemade potato chips because they are no longer cooked properly!“

“Nice to see the pizza assembled right in front of you! Good selection and you can pick your own topping combo. They skimp on the fresh basil leaves, but I usually tell them to double it!! They also have salads and delicious gelato. Their wings are decent, but I wouldn't come here just for them. The owner is very friendly.“
