Hewn is a wonderful bakery and a great addition to the Hubbard Woods business district. It is known for the best bread and pastries, possibly on all of Chicago's North Shore. The bakery serves delicious, naturally fermented breads like the Country Blonde, all sourdough with perfect crunchy crusts and phenomenal crumb, alongside various awesome baked goods and sandwiches. Everything is incredible, with particularly delightful heirloom wheats and unique daily bread specials. This women-owned gem uses locally sourced and organic ingredients, letting real flavor shine in items like their peach pie. The service at their locations is always excellent.
