Wow what a selection. I purchased a chocolate cupcake, two love pucks, cinnamon rolls, poppy lemon bread, baguette, and aNutella sandwich cookie. Everything was really delicious. “oh my gosh, Hewn is so cool – – such inventive and hearty and wholesome and beautiful flavor combinations – – I especially love what they do with fruit and nuts. I’m not surprised at all that their holiday special offerings sell out so quickly – – This is a special kind of bakery – – not too refined as to only have the sweetest and most delicate of desserts – – but more of a chefs kind of place – – you know the ingredients are going to be the finest out there. My only quibble is the inflexibility with the vegetarian sandwiches in their refrigerator – – the staff would not make me a fresh sandwich. But this is a minor quibble. I really do recommend them without reservation.“

My favorites have to be the white bean bread, every cream bread, and mocha castella. Always fresh, super soft, and not too sweet. I would like to visit the main location one day for a special occasion cake.“

“Delicious! I grew up in des plaines near this bakery and always drove by it but never noticed. My fiance did when we came to visit my family. After a few visits, we finally decided to stop by. I’m glad we did! The place is cozy, almost feels like a cute European cafe. We bought a variety of tiramisu flavors, and the honey cake. They were all so good and fresh tasting. The person who helped us was also very sweet and recommended a few items.“

“What can I say: the bakery, food, and drink offerings here are outstanding and the owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about what she's doing.

You really can't go wrong with any of the grab and go cake, cupcake, or pastry items. We've gotten many of them, and we've also gotten special order cakes from here that have been wonderful. Their breakfast burritos (vegetarian or not) are a great quick breakfast option. The quiches (which are relatively new) are exceptional. The hibiscus agua fresca is a lovely refreshing drink for a hot day.

I hope this place stays here for a long time because its popularity has added liveliness to the Roger Williams area.“

“I recently visited this spot and tried the Nova Lox Bagel. While the bagel itself was fresh and well-toasted, the salmon was a letdown. Nova lox is typically known for being less salty than regular smoked salmon, but in this case, it was overly salty and overwhelmed the other flavors. The toppings, like cream cheese, capers, and onions, were well-balanced, but the saltiness of the salmon really detracted from the overall experience.

I also decided to try the apricot cookie, but that turned out to be a mistake. I was surprised to learn it cost nearly $5—far more than I expected for a single cookie. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing; it was so unpalatable that I couldn’t even finish it. The texture was dense and off-putting, and the apricot flavor was barely there. It felt like a waste of money, and I left feeling dissatisfied.

The prices were reasonable for the bagel, but the quality didn’t fully match my expectations. As for the cookie, it was overpriced and not worth trying again. Overall, a mixed experience—there’s potential, but the execution fell short.“

“Super friendly guys there. This was my 2nd Crumbl stop tonight as the 1st one off Golf (across from golf mill mall) did not honor my free bulls mini cookie. They said they didn’t have any chocolate chip cookies. So I called the one off Touhy Ave in Niles and the fellow named Cesar was super friendly and helpful and said they’d honor it. So I drove there and they did! At the store, Cesar was super friendly and the other fellow working there too. So nice compared to the employees at the Crumbl near me in Skokie. I avoid that location at all costs! They (Skokie location) have no customer service skills and would benefit from some training in customer service. Could learn a thing or two from Cesar and his coworker.“

It’s the kind of bread that elevates even a simple sandwich or just stands on its own with a bit of butter. The cookies were equally impressive. “Oshawn & Larry went above and beyond at my recent visit to Auntie Anne's! The pretzel hot bogs weren't available yet because of how early it was (they are my FAVORITE) so I was kinda bummed out but they were able to move efficiently and get them out to me in 10 minutes! It's nice to see that in a world where good customer service is declining, that Auntie Anne's maintains it's outstanding customer experience, along with great food! Thank you guys again!“
