I absolutely love this place. My 7 year old loves to go and get his hot dog in a bun and my favorite is the shrimp balls, so delicious!!
Amazing little bakery, delicious and great value.
Great little spot just like the one in Chinatown. Cash is also preferred. Lots of baked goods to choose from, more offered than the one in Chinatown. I tried the sesame ball and coconut bun. The sesame ball was so soft and fresh and one of the best I’ve had in a while.

Chiu Quon Bakery is a cash-only, carry-out Chinese bakery on Argyle. It is the second location of Chicago’s oldest Chinese bakery and a Chicago classic. The bakery is always busy, but lines move fast. Nothing fancy, just good, honest bakery food at a price that still feels right. Pretty much every item is under $3.00, so it is a good place to sample a lot. All their baked goods are delicious. There are many bread and cake types to choose. The Portuguese egg tart is light and flaky, with a creamy custard filling that is not too sweet. It is the best ever and an all time favorite dessert. The famous BBQ pork buns are just as delicious as everyone says. The pork is sweet with a nice, smoky flavor, and the bread itself is super fluffy and soft. The massive sesame ball is filled with hot red bean paste and has a perfect, stretchy consistency. The siu mai is simple but so good. Some places don’t need to change.
