Fantastic service and food!
Eat here. This is the best bakery and cafe in the area, with a delightful and inventive menu (try the rad hash), caring vibe, and an extraordinary amount of care put into every aspect of the experience. Items that are a weak afterthought at other cafes, like a side salad, are consistently fresh and delicious here. I have eaten at many of the best known and instagrammed restaurants in Chicago and I would rather eat at SBK than anywhere else.
Went for breakfast and got the maple breakfast sandwich on their crumpet, egg cooked to order with whipped feta spread, genuinely one of the better breakfast sandwiches I've had in the city. Tried a couple of their housemade hot sauces off the table too, they've got like a dozen options which felt like a fun little experiment. Grabbed a scone on the way out, buttery without being dense.
