“We were here on mother's day, I called the same morning for a reservation for 14 people and they were great on accommodation us since we were a large group and it was last minute. Unfortunately its not big for large groups and we had to sit in 2 groups, which was a little disappointing. I will say that the service was great, our waitress was on point and tool really good care of us. Food was good, scrambled eggs were a little runny for my taste but overall good food and flavors. It was my first time here but would go back as a small group at most 6.“

“Great little place. Got there at 5:00, it closes at 6.... but by 5:30 it was packed with dinners at tables and picking up take out. Perhaps stay open until 7?? Seems like there's a lot of demand right after work gets out. Tried several things, but the savory menu was probably my favorite. BLT Biscuit was excellent with lots of thick cut bacon. The Sausage Biscuit was phenomenal, especially with the perfectly cooked jammy egg on top! The Chicken Pot Pie was also good, with excellent crust crammed full of nice thick filling, with plenty of meat. Then we tried the Quiche. Lovely fluffy texture in the eggs and tons of vegetables, again with a great crust. The two sweet pies we tried were the Key Lime and the Chicory Chocolate French Silk. I liked them both, wanted a little more greatness in the key lime - but for those who like the creamier smoother flavored key lines it would be perfect. The chocolate again was good but i craved a little bit more of an intense punch of flavor. Just my personal preferences. There was nothing i wouldn't eat again, and i think it was all very fairly priced. Nice bohemian atmosphere and great service. Definitely recommend.“

Infused and delicious, it was honestly one of the best lemonades I’ve ever had. And the baked goods? Incredible. Soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. “oh my gosh, Hewn is so cool – – such inventive and hearty and wholesome and beautiful flavor combinations – – I especially love what they do with fruit and nuts. I’m not surprised at all that their holiday special offerings sell out so quickly – – This is a special kind of bakery – – not too refined as to only have the sweetest and most delicate of desserts – – but more of a chefs kind of place – – you know the ingredients are going to be the finest out there. My only quibble is the inflexibility with the vegetarian sandwiches in their refrigerator – – the staff would not make me a fresh sandwich. But this is a minor quibble. I really do recommend them without reservation.“

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“FYI- don’t take photos. I got into trouble for taking a picture. Wish they had a sign on the door that read “No pictures taking allowed”. Their food is very natural flavor that isn’t artificial anything. No high fructose corn syrup or anything super rich with flavor. To me everything tasted dull. I tried the brownies and they weren’t anything I would indulge in again. very light and natural. I did like the macaroons, those were excellent. I will definitely be buying them again. We spent $185 and pre-ordered our food for a mother’s day gift. We had to come and pick it up which was over an hour drive. But it’s the only place I know that makes 100% Organic since whole foods sold out to Amazon.“

The beverages are always of my preference, when I requested a non-sweet beverage a while ago, I was provided with the most suitable beverage from a gracious lady with glasses and brown hair. They said they didn’t have any chocolate chip cookies. So I called the one off Touhy Ave in Niles and the fellow named Cesar was super friendly and helpful and said they’d honor it. So I drove there and they did! At the store, Cesar was super friendly and the other fellow working there too. So nice compared to the employees at the Crumbl near me in Skokie. I avoid that location at all costs! They (Skokie location) have no customer service skills and would benefit from some training in customer service. Could learn a thing or two from Cesar and his coworker.“
