“Delicious! I grew up in des plaines near this bakery and always drove by it but never noticed. My fiance did when we came to visit my family. After a few visits, we finally decided to stop by. I’m glad we did! The place is cozy, almost feels like a cute European cafe. We bought a variety of tiramisu flavors, and the honey cake. They were all so good and fresh tasting. The person who helped us was also very sweet and recommended a few items.“

I've been to several locations but nothing like this the dutch baby was perfect and the apple pancake reminded me of the one my mom used to make. very eclectic clean interior with extraordinarily caring and attempting staff memembers. highly recommend this location for the food service and atmosphere. it's not often I'm blown away but the dutch baby is a difficult thing do well in a resturaunt environment with a rush etc and they did a truly stand out job.“

So glad I found BBP&B for their vegan options, namely February's vegan raspberry pie, March's vegan blueberry mint (I know it sounds a bit odd, but you get this extra hint of freshness from the mint and not a mint taste competing with the fruit. I don't even like mint), and the vegan ginger molasses cookies. You have to pre-order vegan pies >48 hours in advance and it is definitely worth it.“

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“I have never really understood macarons. They always felt too sweet and kind of bland to me. But these changed my mind. The shells were crisp on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside, so light that it dissolved in my mouth. Flavor-wise, they struck a beautiful balance between sweet and nutty, with the filling actually taking center stage. My friend even said they were on par with the ones he had in France.

The main event, though, is the basque cheesecake. Beautifully caramelized outside giving way to an incredibly creamy, almost custardy center. You can see the vanilla bean specks throughout and the flavor is rich without feeling heavy. It was smooth, luscious, and just melts on the tongue.

I also had a really lovely conversation with the owner. You can genuinely feel the enthusiasm and care he puts into his craft. He even asked us what flavors we would want to see next for the basque cheesecake. He and his wife make all the desserts here and it is still a new small business that has not gotten as much attention as it deserves. They are getting an espresso machine soon which would be so perfect because these desserts really call for a good cup of coffee.

I'm really rooting for this place. I will be back probably more often than I should.“

“There's a reason the line here is sometimes half a block long. The scones and banana bread are out of this world but the Olive oil cake is among the tastiest things I've had. Regardless of the time of day or how crowded they are the staff is friendly and incredibly efficient. I've never had to wait on my order for more than a couple of minutes. “We were pleasantly surprised! However, on the website it says some locations have Semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies on Thursdays…if this location had those I’d be here every day. The milk chocolate was just okay, not the best because milk chocolate doesn’t balance out the cookie. That’s why crumbl chocolate chip is bad. Semi-sweet chips are always the better choice! Please bring them to Mt. Prospect! (Not sure why they wouldn’t just be on the menu in the first place and every day, not just Thursdays?) Thank you!“

“Mr Cake Never Disappoints. The staff is so incredibly friendly and pay attention to detail. Their cakes are always rich in flavor, soft and never dry. I have ordered a lot of cakes from them in the past but this time around I had to order my cake over the phone since I could not make it in. I had full faith in them to design my daughter’s cake with one request, light pink with white flowers. I knew I was going to love whatever design they came up with because they are just that good. They said they didn’t have any chocolate chip cookies. So I called the one off Touhy Ave in Niles and the fellow named Cesar was super friendly and helpful and said they’d honor it. So I drove there and they did! At the store, Cesar was super friendly and the other fellow working there too. So nice compared to the employees at the Crumbl near me in Skokie. I avoid that location at all costs! They (Skokie location) have no customer service skills and would benefit from some training in customer service. Could learn a thing or two from Cesar and his coworker.“
