He still learning the serving ways and from a former server I know he did his best to ensure we were ok and taken care of. When he wasn’t sure he said he’d go and ask someone so he can get us what we wanted. He was very polite and thanked us for being patient and that right there showed me he actually cared about what he’s doing. Definitely deserved the 40 percent tip.“

A special mention goes to our server, Sasa, who was incredibly attentive and provided great suggestions. He even surprised us with complimentary limoncellos, which were absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we had the grilled octopus and hummus—both prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we chose the Dover sole and Amish chicken. These dishes were exceptional and stood out as some of the best we've ever had. The potatoes served with the sole were also a delightful surprise. “Fantastic elevated food in a contemporary sunlit space with a water view. Well worth the drive for us. I started with the butternut squash and apple soup and a arugula salad with baked goat cheese, and my husband chose the creamy cauliflower soup and mixed green salad with currants and blueberries. The soups were both rich and flavorful. The salads were delayed in coming (perhaps because they had run out of arugula as my salad contained another leaf lettuce) but both salads were very good. The bread on the table was baked in house, also very good. We both had the hangar steak with whipped potatoes and sauteed spinach. Excelkent! We weren't asked how we wanted the steaks done but they arrived as we prefer them, medium with a warm pink center, with a charred crust and a slightly smoky flavor as if wood grilled. Perfect! A brownie sundae completed our meal. We will definitely be back.“

“After a week of travel for this Mom, the last thing I wanted to do was to make dinner. This isn't the first time we've been to Glen Prairie and I knew it was just the place I wanted to go. The atmosphere is warm, but quiet. Perfect for a good family catchup. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the wine, beer and cocktail selection is the perfect pairing. We've had the pleasure of being served by Anna a few times now and she does a great job. She is attentive and watchful, without being overbearing which is a difficult skill to master for a lot of servers. Aside from that, I love that it is a safe place for folks with food allergies and I feel very well taken care of in respect to that issue. I can tell that everyone from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the kitchen staff are very well trained in creating a safe and welcoming experience for each guest. Glen Prairie is quickly becoming one of our go to family favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!“

“I would give this place 100 stars if able! I had to plan a rehearsal luncheon for my son's wedding in Joliet in mid May with only 2 months notice. Since we live in North Carolina, I had to do all the research online. Thank heaven I came across SixtyFour Reserve Room in a Google search. The manager, Andrew, contacted me right away and was so helpful in making suggestions for our event. Cheryl, the events manager, took over in finalizing all the arrangements. There are so many different options for appetizers, meal combinations, wine, cocktails and beer! Our guests were able to choose their favorites ahead of time. When we arrived on the day of the event, we were so delighted by the venue! Everything I had requested was in place, and Cheryl and our amazing server/bartender, Alex, immediately greeted us and made everyone feel welcome. The appetizers and meals were served efficiently and right on the timeline I had planned. The food was incredibly delicious with a pleasing presentation. Our guests had so much fun with the Wine Stations, and the whiskey lovers appreciated the variety of choices. Everyone raved about how much they enjoyed the food, drink and ambiance. Best of all, I was able to relax and enjoy our guests since all the work was done by Andrew, Cheryl, Alex and the kitchen staff. The cost was very reasonable, especially so close to Chicago. Today I went there for breakfast and was told by the waitress I was not allowed to bring in my own creamer. She said it was because people sneak in alcohol disguised as other beverages. Ok…I get that. They don’t want alcohol in the restaurant….but when she claimed it was COVID related that was utter nonsense. Is this yet another instance of stupidity where COVID is on outside creamer bottles but not on everything other item coming through the door? D****“
