“Great restaurant! The service is impeccable and always friendly and professional. The food is delicious, I just wish they offered more traditional dishes as opposed to the Midwestern version of "texmex" that they serve. Like I said, great restaurant, I highly recommend.“

“Never thought I'd drive to Shelburn for dinner but I'm glad I did.Our local Mexican restaurants cook my food with meat when I request it not to be. Unfortunately, meat ends up in my food quite often. We usually drive to Vincennes or Sullivan as both of those restaurants give the extra effort and cook separate. We took a chance and drove over to Shelburn tonight. We've had Taco Tequila in Terre Haute a few times and they've been good about cooking separate. Our server tonight at Shelburn restaurant spoke really good English and understood my request. He also said the rice and beans are both free of animal ingredients.I ordered the mushroom fajita (without mushrooms) with no cheese or sour cream. I got a huge skillet of onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Which might not sound exciting but was exactly what I wanted. I noticed the menu didn't mention guacamole and the salad plate had none. I had to order a side of it for $4.50.Chips and salsa were excellent. The staff did great keeping up with us (I had not eaten all day). Food came out pretty quickly even with the special order. Everything looked and tasted great! It was a lot of food, like a whole lot, and I hate leftover fajitas so I ate more than I should have. So, vegans and vegetarians, you can feel good about eating here. The staff was excellent and were accommodating. Rice and beans are vegan friendly too. Thank you Taco Tequila!Absolutely loved the old train station. Super cool building and great atmosphere. Shelburn is lucky to have such a classy and clean Mexican restaurant. The local yokles drove by in their pickup and screamed at us on our way in. Also, be sure to watch your step on the way out the door. It's a doozy.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options on menu. Can customize to vegan pretty easily. Restaurant does not carry vegan versions of meat or cheese.Dietary restrictions: Knowledgeable about food ingredients for allergies or special diets.“

“Honestly I found that in Indiana everybody throws white cheese sauce on top of everything you really have to tell them not to do that if you don't want that I mean even if you order a bean and cheese burrito they're not going to make it like they do in California where they just put beans and they just put shredded cheese inside and wrap it up or maybe Grill it on the outside if you ask that they leave it open on both ends on a dish and then pour white cheese sauce over here so that's not exactly what I asked for and the guys don't speak English in there very well there's only one guy that did he may be the manager of the owner I don't know but the chips and the salsa very tasty I'm sure and the beans themselves were okay I mean their quality of food taste good but they need to ease up on the white cheese sauce in Indiana that's not like any Mexican food I've ever had being in California we're used to either having things with guacamole or with a red sauce in fact I've never had anybody put cheese sauce on anything unless you went to Taco Bell that's what that kind of reminded me of yuck I don't like the cheese sauce I would have had a red sauce on an enchilada but if I had ordered an enchilada there I would have had to tell them no don't do cheese sauce only red sauce so yeah it's like that the prices are reasonable They Don't Really check on you and see if you need anything else they don't have desserts there so there's no flan there is no Jamaica or horchata for drinks there's no any kind of desserts that I saw at all listed so it's lacking in desserts this isn't the first place Mexican restaurant I've been to in Indiana where they don't have Mexican drinks they don't have desserts they do serve cocktails so they have a full bar my service dog was with me and they didn't give me a hard time about that which they better not because it's illegal but they were very nice and very busy so a lot of people like the food there I didn't get a chance to try anything else as I didn't have that much money on me I would have liked to have tried there chile relleno to see what that was like and maybe a carne asada burrito to see what that was like but I'd have to tell them again just put the meat maybe guacamole in there nothing else and no cheese sauce and wrap up the end so I can hold it in my hand wrapped in paper so I don't know maybe I need to find a Taco Stand but even in restaurants in California if you ask for a burrito they're going to give it to you like that wrapped up I just don't understand what's going on in Indiana the people don't speak English but they don't seem to make Mexican food like what I'm used to living close to the border so I'm so confused“
