Parking: It's a small parking lot and I have a big truck so it was a little difficult to get in and out of but the food and the service was worth it.”

“Absolutely fantastic place. It has become one of my favorite places to spend time with my wife. The food is delicious, the drinks are well made, and the scenery is amazing! Relaxing atmosphere. Hoping during the summer they will adjust hours to be open a little longer, it's a great place for my wife and I to get some time together after a long week! The staff is so friendly, especially the Bartender, Brittney! She makes great drinks. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a new spot!”

“2/10 stars. I got the Ribeye dinner. The steak was tough even tho it was medium rare, tough like a cheap Walmart steak. It had 0 flavor other than burnt/charred taste like they never clean their grill. There's a big difference between fire flavor and not cleaning ur grill flavor. Green beans straight from a can, were gross. Mashed potatoes weren't bad but didn't taste the best. Bob Evans at the grocery store is 10 times better at making mashed potatoes. oh and the best part.. my salad was soggy/wet. I am sure they saw that and still served it to us anyway. I thought it was a glob of guacamole ontop because it was so wet. Dont go here. I have full regret. went on a Wednesday night- only one car in the parking lot.”

“This place is the best! Everything I have tried has been great! My favorite thing is the Mangonada, my husband likes the Fruit Salad Bionico and our daughter loves the horchata ice cream! They are my favorite place in Marion for ice cream! You have to try it out!”

“Juan and the staff at La Charreada did an absolutely awesome job catering for my daughter’s wedding this past weekend. We got so many compliments on the food. From the chips and salsa waiting for our guests at the tables to the variety of choices at the buffet line, everything was delicious. The service was excellent, and the price was incredibly fair and affordable. Juan even met with us at the wedding venue a couple of weeks ahead of time to make sure everything would be done right, and it was! I couldn’t more highly recommend Juan and La Charreada.”

“I love going here for ice cream. However, tonight must have been a bad night for them. All the employees behind the counter, walked out from behind the counter and went to the back leaving the front unattended for at least 5 minutes. When I went to use the restroom, there was trash stacked in the corner and no paper towel. With 3 employees working, they could have gotten trash cleaned up and paper towel restocked. I worked food service for years and we always had to make sure that those things were done. The girls working were just sitting behind the counter chatting. Overall, I love this place and plan to come back but definitely see room for improvement with staffing.”

“Food is good but quite over priced for spaghetti and marinara $9.25 after tax. Plus, no more shredded mozzarella . I guess. Same with the Alfredo. The bread sticks were different and dry. Otherwise the food was good.”

“The owner and his wife put this place together to offer something different in this neck of the woods and you typically will find out here. You will appreciate this if you are from the West Coast or Southwest. His wife is from Sinaloa and they make delicious southwest style Mexican food that is very hard to find in Indiana, Northern Indiana area. I offered a picture of a Carne Asada burrito from the southwest and he recreated it for me perfectly. The food here is top-notch and you definitely have to come by and check this place out!”

“Today I had a good lunch at the Hostess House. The service was quick. The food was good. I love the aesthetically vintage look of the Hostess House. It’s a historical building in Marion built in the early 1900’s by an African American architect named Samuel Plato. I’ll definitely be back!”

“1st... this is a University cafeteria, not a 5 star restaurant so calm down.With that being said.... I have been to several colleges in IN, TN, and MD. This is by far the best one. And if you are looking for catering or hosting an event, their food is well prepared, tasty, and their food presentation is good, not just lame line buffet with metal trays.”

“Giving it 5 stars. Not that we ate here. We got 100 pancakes to go. The manager and the GM did a great job to figure out how to ring up 100 pancakes. The staff in the back did a great job of not wasting time getting them fixed.”
