Hong Kong Restaurant

The old Mooresville Dairy Queen was transformed into a Chinese food restaurant years ago. As of today, the name (Hong Kong) is the same, but its under new ownership. They kept the name Hong Kong and the food is WAY better!They have the best hot & sour soup. And any breaded meat is way different and way better! It is very light and crisp! The only place within 20 mins radius besides super busy sit-down family restaurants, open on Thanksgiving (besides Marcos)! For those of us with poor planning and tired souls not wanting to cook food at home on a holiday, this was just the ticket. Prices are about 20% cheaper than Doordash shows. Avg meal with rice side is $11-13.

Since the new owners took over, the food here is very similar. The portions may be a bit smaller, and the prices are a bit higher, but inflation has probably played a role in that. The eggrolls are still amazing! I wish they would back off the black pepper in the hot and sour soup— it tasted much better previously, and the black pepper flavor is just offputting.
