“You gotta get the cheese or garlic bread. Our family is hard to fit places to eat bc we have two very picky eaters but we can usually eat here one stop for us all. My parents favorite place to eat when visiting from out of town. Def give the pizza bread a try also!“

“We ate at Mimo’s for the first time tonight. We were seated by the man himself. The place is cozy and authentic. We were served complimentary delicious warm bread knots with marinara dipping sauce and my gosh, are they amazing. Warm, fresh baked and just enough garlic. Grabbed calamari for our appetizer. It was cooked well and served with marinara. We ordered the large cheese pizza for the teenager, baked sausage ziti and linguini alfredo. We finished off with the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. EVERYTHING was perfection. Authentic, delicious and filling. Mimo, is kind, funny and a master at his craft. Please go visit this lovely locally owned spot. You’ll leave full and happy (from the food and Mimo cutting up with you).“

“It's rare that we have a date night on a weekday with two young children, but tonight was the exception. When I realized our anniversary was falling on a Wednesday, Perso was the first place that came to mind. Perso's Prix Fixe Menú is available every Sunday through Wednesday and offers a three course meal for $29. It's no secret that I'm a fine dining enthusiast; but who doesn't love a bargain? If you're looking for a nice night out without breaking the bank, this is your spot. Perso sits at the corner of Oak and Shelby in the same location as the former Square Cut Pizza. The giant windows in the front provide an abundance of natural light. The interior has a modern industrial vibe with painted exposed brick, plants, and Edison bulbs hanging on pendants. One wall with wooden slats gives a Scandinavian feel to the main dining area. It's a small-ish intimate space with a beautiful patio. For my first course, I chose Crostino Di Tonno- olive oil poached tuna, stracciatella, pickled celery, and Calabrian chili. I followed my first course with olive oil poached swordfish, corn chowder, and golden zucchini scapece. For dessert, I had the chef's choice: apple strudel with whipped cream cheese. My husband chose heirloom tomato with roasted eggplant, bagna couda, and fine herbs. For his main course, he had pork tenderloin with edamame, beef dashi, and fine herbs. We both opted for the chef's choice for dessert. I tasted each of his courses and they were every bit as delicious as my own. The edamame provided the perfect texture and his tenderloin dashi tasted gravy-esque without being overly heavy. Mostly notable, besides the insane deal for such decadence, was the fresh flavor combinations throughout. Our table had fresh rosemary as a centerpiece. The corn chowder was right up my alley. I could've licked my bowl if I wasn't trying to pretend to have a bit of class. The swordfish was tender, juicy, and not overly fishy. The tuna flatbread was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The mint on top of my whipped cream cheese truly set it apart. My lavender Manhattan was earthy and smoky, not just in flavor. It was literally smoking. My husband had an old-fashioned. Neither of us were disappointed. Our server, Amanda, was phenomenal. She offered recommendations. She visited our table to ensure we were satisfied the perfect number of times. Her warm demeanor was professional while also being personable. She was everything we hope for in a server. Perso's Sunday through Wednesday Prix Fixe Menú is hands-down one of the best opportunities for an affordable night out. That being said, once you get a taste of what they have to offer, you'll be sold on splurging any day of the week.“

“We always enjoy our experiences at Volare’. Fresh seafood dishes flown in each Friday for another one of their exquisite seafood entree’s. Large portions are in order and our favorites are the steak with bourbon glaze and salmon with a hot pepper sauce. Don’t forget to order their decadent desserts, even if you take it to go. Caring staff that make certain that your visit is flawless.“

“We went for brunch! It was heavenly. The espresso martini didn’t depresso. Excellent! My Hubby had a dish with their red sauce & I cannot wait to return for dinner for THAT sauce.“

“The pizza is lit. Service is efficient and dude is super nice. I really wish the ranch was better and did not care for the type of cheese on the white pizza but other than that I cannot complain- I love all the other slices. The texture/chew/crunch of the crust is perfectly balanced, the flavor is spot on, and the options, value, and recipe are right on point. I stopped going to The Post when I found this place- this pizza exceeds Spinellis, The Post- better than any other NY style pizza around here. Plus, Locally owned and operated ? ❤️“

“Brett did a wonderful job serving my sons and me. We all agreed we would ask for him the next time we visit. Both my sons loved their meals and, as for myself, I felt like my meal came straight from Italy. Love the ambience and neighborhood feel.“

“Not only is the food ALWAYS delicious, but the servers are always friendly, kind, and super generous with the salad and bread sticks.
We love getting the soup, salad, and breadstick lunch!
My son has a lot of food allergies and the servers always communicate well with the chefs to accomodate his needs.“

“The food was enjoyable. The unavailability of beer was uncanny specially, no availability of the only one Italian beer offered. Cost way too long to be taken to the table. Some of the staff are welcoming. Others seem a little too good to help certain customers..“

“This is one of our favorite restaurants! We come here at least once a month and ALWAYS for special occasions! The food here is SPECIAL. They take their time to make it fresh and it shows! One of the few places we can get escargot too!! The menu is not huge, but what is on it, is done to perfection. I almost hesitate to leave a review because we don't want too many people to find out about this gem, and then we won't be able to get in! Absolutely superb service and in the summer time the outdoor patio is great!! We can't say enough good things about everyone and everything here. Just go! You will not be disappointed. ❤️“

“We had dinner here tonight for the first time ever. Our waitress was well organized and stayed right on top of getting our food out to us. Perfect! Every platter of food was tasty. Absolutely no issues at all. My one complaint would be the restrooms and the area just before entering them. It was SO cold my grand children didn’t want to sit on the toilet. It’s was freezing-no joke! Please consider a small space heater there for winter nights. Not a deal breaker and will definitely be back!“

“By far the best hole in the wall Italian restaurant within proximity. Make reservations accordingly. The Chef presences is amazing, he’s able to accommodate guests coming in as well as certain dish to make an appearance. He not only has fun doing it but making sure the customer is properly pleased at the same time rather than being stuck in the kitchen. Rather rare really. My family and I are definitely coming back. The food is more authentic and handmade than Grassa Gramma, lol y’all better watch out. I honestly prefer this location than any other location who considers “Italian” legitimate. Anybody thinking about coming here for any occasion, honestly prioritize it. Keep this place alive for the future to come. I don’t want this to go anywhere. Also yes it was our first experience as well, what are you waiting for? Dale!“

“Some of the best food in Louisville!“
“I had never heard of this restaurant until a family member from out of state sent me a link as a suggestion to cater our grandson’s first birthday party. We were expecting 80 people (adults and children) - he is a miracle baby and this was a big celebration! We wanted to make sure there was enough food that both adults and children would enjoy. Paula was so patient and gracious to us as we went back and forth about what we wanted, even changing the menu at the last minute. She was also extremely helpful and gave us the perfect suggestions for a crowd our size, with something for everyone. She even made a low sodium option for my husband who is on a renal diet. We ended up with two pasta dishes and two kinds of panini sliders, with garlic bread bites and a complimentary tray of cookies. Everything was incredibly delicious, and we had tons of food! Everyone raved about it and commented it was like food at a wedding reception. The panini sliders were a huge hit! This is not your typical Italian food - it is high quality cuisine, and you can tell it is “made with love” as my husband says - and very reasonably priced especially for the quality. Lastly, Paula’s husband, Anthony, delivered the meal all the way to Bernheim Forest where we had the event. We were running behind and it was so chaotic when he got there - but he was so gracious and helpful, and even brought a birthday gift Paula had gotten for our grandson! Our entire experience with them was wonderful. They served us well, and we’ll definitely go back. They are busy, so if you don’t get a call back, be patient - it will be well worth the wait!“

“My wife Brittany and I stopped in on May 10. The restaurant was packed with only a few seats at the bar. It looked like the hot spot for pre prom dinner. The waitresses were working their tails off trying to keep up and we were very patient. Boy did that patience pay off. Sarah was finally able to ask what drinks we would like. I teased her that water would be great if we ever get it. lol. Sarah immediately new we were kidding and fired back with a little sarcasm of her own. She was wonderful the entire. Sarah brought our bread out. It was very good, but the sauce for dipping was the highlite. Sarah made some recommendations, as we were first time diners. I had chicken parm and my wife ordered eggplant parm. We loved both dishes. Great attention to detail was taken in preparation and appearance. It looked better than any food I have ever seen pictured in a menu, and tasted even better. We followed dinner with chocolate cake and a raspberry sauce that still makes our mouths water. It was so food, we ordered more to take back to the hotel. I would say it is the best little spot in New Albany! Sarah's service and playful personality was the best part of our evening. The food was a very close second. BOTH were INCREDIBLE!!! Hope to make it in again sometime for more great company and good food! Shannon and Brittany“
