“Ok so I scout for halal meat options so I have a list of go to places handy when I am craving good tenders or burgers and I stumbled upon Dave’s hot chicken.First impressions, the place is swanky and spotlessly clean. Deja my server gave me suggestions of nice combos which helped me save money else I was planning to order 3 tenders and slaw which costed a bit more. The to go order took less than 10 minutes and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the tenders (holy, Moly!), I loved the side of Kale salad which wasn’t overpowering flavor with Kale but just the right amount.Now the tender itself is crispy, delicious and spicy. I ordered Hot and I expected a bit more spice but it was delicious nevertheless. The Dave’s sauce on the side which looked like southwest tasted really good and added a nice touch. I am not sure why the reviews said the chicken tasted sweet. It was good and on point.The crowd at broad ripple was happening and many groups were already moving around celebrating St Patrick’s day. “The best hot chicken sandwiches in Indy (hands down). The standard combo is great - sandwich, fries and a drink. You can customize the spice level and it’s honestly quite tolerable from levels 1-3. After that, good luck lmao.The chicken salad here is good too! Salad with chit up chunks of their hot chicken. I’ve ordered online - it’s functional and easy to do through their website. “Went here with my wife after a long drive to get a quick bite before we head home to call it a night. It was a complete whim and figure fried chicken sounds good.I can’t stress to you how absolutely delicious this food was. Especially with how much it cost for the incredible portions you get. I hate to compare but I had hotboys chicken a week before trying this place and I was incredibly annoyed by the vibe and how it was just laid out but the food was great.Every single thing was better and more relaxed here though which is personally more my speed. Me and my wife got to pig out after a long day and proceed to pass out in bed.“
“This 92 year old restaurant/institution was delightful! Having a family style dinner in a pristinely kept old home was a complete experience. It is definitely a place I will bring all visitors to try as long as they like fried chicken! Best fried chicken I have had in a while and the biscuit recipe is fabulous! It reminds me of an old farm dinner. Excellent service and the whole package was warm and welcoming.“

“This is my first visit to Joella's. I live like 5 blocks but never came in the 2 yrs I've lived in Indy. I had the quarter half, tweener level heat, mash tators and colored greens. The chicken was cooked to perfection, perfect crunch, perfect spice/heat. Might try hotter next time. The mashed tators and the "kickin" gravy were delicious. Now, the colored greens. Folks, there is a science to cooking great colored greens. Cook'em slow and low, good seasoning, get that tenderness. “I came in 1 min till closing like any regular rushed human being trying to find something for dinner. They let me in and ordered my food no problem! This was my first time eating here . I was drawn by the smell of this amazing chicken shopping nearby . When I came in the lady at the front had Beautiful customer service. She hooked me up with the right dinner with an amazing price. Mind you this is my first time here. She made sure what I wanted made sense with what I ordered. The food service was fast! The Chef even verified SAUCES and my order multiple times. I waited for a good two songs. They definitely was jamming to the right vibes at night. I smelled this good food all the way home where the TASTE was EVERYTHING AND MORE! I’m So glad I stopped by! My boyfriend was craving for some hush puppies and they did amazing job on them, the fried perch and traditional wings. Definitely will be coming back!“
“Stopped in here randomly - had the Buffalo Mac and Cheese. It was absolutely delicious. We had a huge order, the gal at the register was so kind and patient, not to mention really helpful. We had lots of kids which I'm sure was annoying but everyone was lovely. The fries were delicious, sauce selection generous. My mother in law loved the chicken and waffles! And the salad was really fresh and a generous portion.“
“THEEEEEEE BEST We've had in a while, we got a whole chicken, a rack of ribs, 1lb of gizzards, potato salad the gentleman was nice enough to let me try it but it was amazing oh and we got wedges. I just say this will be a regular trip from 56th and Arlington to 34th and Highschool Rd. Everything was cooked perfectly hit and delish I highly recommend this place for some of the best chicken and ribs I've had in a while and their bbq is amazing. “I got the spicy leg and thigh, extra crispy. Folks, this was some of if not the absolute best fries chicken I've had in my life. The chicken itself was juicy and very flavorful. The sauce was very spicy, but sweet and balanced. But the breading was the real star. This was crispy as could be and delicious. It stayed crispy up until the last bite of the second piece despite being coated in sauce. I honestly ate the crumbles of breading that fell off. That's how good it is. The owner was extremely friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect. I'll be back very soon for sure.“
“We ended up Popeyes due to my husband loving their beans and rice. He was thrilled with the size of the serving. We are not fancy chicken folks (no sauces or stuff). The chicken was cooked thru and the white meat was nice and moist. Overall the big box dinner was affordable and enjoyable. “Food was great, they did take a little longer than usual I think but it was probably because it’s the day after Christmas and possibly short staffed? This was my sisters first time eating Zaxbys and had the big Zax snack, she was so surprised she hadn’t eaten here before!! We also got fried pickles and they are some of my favorites!!!“
“I had the honey garlic pepper wings. They were pretty good. The food came out at the time they said it would. They seem pretty nice. Considering I had purchased a 10 piece, the amount of fries were small. Very small. I guess I'll have to order extra fries. Lastly, there are so many different menus online all with different prices so its confusing to understand their prices.“
