“Its a rare occasion we are able to go out for a nice dinner and enjoy ourselves having 3 teenagers but when we do we like to try places we have never been! Tonight we chose the Backroads Tavern and let me tell you... we were NOT disappointed. A relaxing, scenic 45 min drive from angola resulted in the best meal we have had out in a long while. The cheese sticks were pretty darn close to "world famous" as our amazing waiter Chris stated. Followed up by the most tender waygu steak with crispy brussel sprouts and loaded fries! Not a single thing I could have done better had I made it myself at home! Drinks were nice and strong, atmosphere was pleasing. However... what made us want to rant and rave about this dining experience was the service we received. From the moment we walked thru the door we were greeted with a smile. Chris was attentive, personable, knowledgeable. He cared enough about his customers and the service he provided to the point we felt he had to be the owner! THAT folks is what makes me WANT to come back to an establishment! Job WELL DONE Backroads Tavern and Chris! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening!”

“This is a great little lake pub! Not much to look at on the inside but it's a bar so... The outside patio is awesome! Feed the fish and turtles, have a beer and really solid menu items. Their Bluegill is very good, their sandwiched are very good, and their fried fish is really good too! Fuel up, dock the boat and walk on in! You won't be disappointed!”

“I ordered a pizza and the crust wasn't done. I called and spoke to Caleb five minutes before closing. He was very patient with me and remade my pizza. Honestly best pizza I have ever gotten from Elmo's. Such a respectful young man. I believe he will be an amazing manager some time soon. Thank you Caleb for making us a great pizza! “My wife and I enjoyed a drink and a meal before a Thursday evening concert at the nearby Bluegate Theater. The Bang Bang Shrimp salad was fantastic and my wife enjoyed her Fish/Fries basket. Unless you are a huge eater, the lunch sized shrimp salad was quite large and more than enough to satisfy my appetite. The place was packed and loud. Our drinks took a bit to arrive but that was due to the busyness. I had a double Eagle Rare bourbon and my wife had a Tito's and Tonic, both reasonably priced ($15 and $7). I can never get Eagle Rare any longer so I was pleased to see it here. We will definitely stop here again when we are in the area.”

“This place is so cozy and the people that work there are pretty nice. I got a maple bacon burrito but I guess I didn’t realize it’s literally just bacon in a burrito. The caramel latte was pretty good! But the autumn leaves latte was a bit too bitter for me. But they did have a large variety of seasonal drinks and pastries that all looked amazing!”

“Absolutely delicious!!! My wife and I have been looking for a good pizza spot and boy oh boy, Pepperonis hit the spot. We got the breadsticks, garlic bread with cheese, a 14” extreme pepperoni, and a couple of other smaller pizzas. We had pizza for a couple days, but we wanted to try a few things. The murals inside are a neat addition. We definitely recommend this pizza spot!!!”

“The owner and staff are phenomenal, as is the setting. Coffee is great and affordable. Bakery items (including, but not limited to, their cookies) are to die for. A group I'm a part of ordered a cake and it came out beautiful and everyone loved it! The only caveat I've ever had with this business is that it's not big enough to host mid-sized groups, but we know they'd accommodate if they could!”

“We had a great time on this, our first visit. The beer is some of the best we have had in a long time and this was the 227th brewery we have been to. The Cheshire Ale and the Nutty Bar were amazing. The food was also excellent. My husband says the hamburger was one of the best he has ever had! Our server was also top notch but I forgot to get her name. We highly recommend a stop at this gem!”

“Excellent authentic Mexican food. Upon sitting we were immediately greeted with very good chips and salsa. The place was slammed, but the entire staff was working very hard to serve everyone. While our food took longer than expected, considering the large volume of business it was not surprising. The food was hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend.”

“My family and I have been huge fans of Fish of Stroh for decades. When the original closed we started going to the one in Fort Wayne which is just as good, just different ambiance. Today my brother and I were passing through northern Indiana on a road trip. I knew we wouldn't have time to get down to Fort Wayne but I was really excited to see this place show up on Yelp. We tried it out and were so happy to have a taste of our favorite fried fish and tartar sauce again - fantastic! It's basically just a deck/porch with an ordering window and some picnic tables but the food they serve is out of this world. The staff was friendly and we got our food quickly, hot and fresh. Bring cash or check, no cards accepted.”

“Food was good, crab Rangoon isn't great though. Restraunt could be updated. Kind of chaotic if you eat inside, not much quiet or privacy. Bathroom definitely needs updated. Apps are kind of expensive. We spent almost $50 for 3 adults with apps, meals and drinks. That's how much a buffet would have been. They do cook it to order though for the most part. Some stuff comes frozen and they just fry it but still made to order when you order and gets done pretty quick, like ten minutes.”

The pancakes are so good, best I've ever had, they don't even need butter or syrup. Everything is cooked perfectly! Service was amazing despite being super busy. “We met George at our first visit here last month and he was the absolutely biggest gentleman and kindest soul! The food was absolutely amazing. I went with three friends and we all tried something different on the menu and everything was 10/10!! I would recommend anyone stopping here for a bite to eat!
