My favorite place to grab lunch when passing through on our way to the lake. Always great food and friendly staff!
We love the Outpost. The food is Great and the prices are even greater! It's a new idea for this 1850's livery stable. They have especially good Tex Mex and there are several different dishes available. The peope are very accommodating, nice, understanding, and helpful. We've always had a good meal at The Outpost! Try it, if you haven't already.
One of our favorite places to eat in Fort Scott. The food is delicious and the staff is always super kind. Love it.

Outpost Chicken House is a comfortable place with counter seating, tables, and booths. The chicken is delicious, moist with a flavorful, crunchy breading, though some find it salty. The biscuits are huge and buttery. Meals are made with flair, offering good portions and taste. The grilled chicken sandwich with french fries for $10 is reasonable, with generous fries. They have especially good Tex Mex dishes and great specials occasionally. Prices are great, and the people are accommodating, nice, and helpful. However, some meals have been incomplete, overcooked, with a long wait. It is a great addition to local choices and a nice place for family.
