“We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at Rye Leawood and we had an incredible experience. From early on in the planning process to the event itself, the experience was expectational. They went above and beyond. India, the Event Manager, was so helpful with the planning of the room design, food menu, and beverage menu. Everything I requested she delivered on - the perfect layout of the room to accommodate the rehearsal dinner followed by the welcome reception to the entire menu being gluten and dairy free. She answered every email in a timely manner and met with me multiple times to over questions I had. She was so great to work with. The food was delicious! Every dish from appetizers to desserts was beautifully presented and so flavorful - I didn't know GF/DF could be so delicious. We have received so many compliments about the menu. The service was outstanding. The staff was so professional. They know how to work an event - incredibly efficient and attentive. Our guests were well taken care of. The entire event ran so smoothly. If you are looking for a venue for your special event, I highly recommend Rye Leawood - amazing food, outstanding service and an incredible experience. Our event was unforgettable. “They never disappoint! The food and staff are above par every time! My visit last night was for the all you can eat crab legs and it was amazing! Best boil I have ever had! The peach vinaigrette salad dressing ⭐️! Everything in the boil including the crab legs flavortastic🤩! The service was outstanding! Everyone who brought something to our table and the waitress, best customer service! We had one of the later reservations and you all never ran out! Cobbler was gone but that lemon bar substitute was delicious! 🍋 We will be back!“

“Chicken was delicious as always, first time we had the mac and cheese definitely will go back for that! Was not a fan of the greens, I like extreme flavor of my greens, but Tanner brought out some vinegar something that helped give it a bit more of a bite! Okra is always my favorite! Even if I order nothing else from Gus's I will always order the okra. Yes it's high-priced but everything is high-priced anymore, no matter where you go. Thanks again Tanner we will definitely be back if not for the great service, for the fried okra, chicken and now the mac and cheese!“

“Look no further for lunch time. Best fried chicken and sides. Always stop here when I'm in the area and they give you your money's worth: loaded plates with two dipping sauces, compared to the usual one from those other places.

“Brass Onion is an awesome restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is great. I have been there several times and never had a bad experience. There is an exceptional young lady who my guest and I have had the pleasure to serve us named Tianna she is Fabulous and provides phenomenal service. Tianna deserves a BONUS she is one of the reasons I keep going back to the Brass Onion. Plus the good food along with the hospitality of Rob the manager too.“

“Went for dinner and happy hour around 5:00pm last Thursday with my parents. Food was good, service was friendly, and the space itself is really nice.

That said… the bar-only happy hour rule was a choice. There were maybe three people sitting at the bar and only one other table in the entire dining room, yet we were told happy hour drinks weren’t available at tables. We intentionally came for dinner and a happy hour cocktail, so that was a bit of a buzzkill.

Not the end of the world, but some flexibility during slower times would go a long way. Still a solid spot - just left wishing that given the slow pace of the establishment, an exception could have been made.“
