“Wife & I are from Topeka. We had been in Emporia for grandson's baseball tournament yesterday. We had previously been told about your place, so we came to try it. I had the fried chicken dinner, wife had the chicken fried steak, and we had a basket of onion rings. We shared our plates, and it was all delicious. Awesome service, great food, wonderful experience for us old folks.”

“Absolutely fantastic. The restaurant decor and the music played is perfect. The food is incredible and the service is great. We were there on a Thursday and went back the next day because we loved it so much!! We had the burger, chicken sandwich, Kansas City strip, fish and chips, truffle fries and the bee sting over the 2 visits. Oh and the crème brûlée was ahhhhhmazing!!”

“What a wonderful little diner filled with a line of regular customers on Friday noon! The burgers are big. The onion rings are crispy. The iced tea is fresh and refills on on the house. Then you leave with a small dish of ice cream or a cone.Parking: Parking is limited, but street parking is available within a short walk.Wheelchair accessibility: Two steps up gets you in the door and the seating does not allow much of a walkway. But J's is called "Carry Out" for a reason. They do a bustling business from the drive through, and you still get your complimentary ice cream! You don't need to get out of your vehicle to enjoy J's.”

“We were passing through Emporia and a local recommended this place, and sure enough, we had a fantastic meal here. I had the chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns, biscuit, and gravy, while my wife had the biscuits, sausage, and gravy. The chicken fried steak was the best I've ever had. Biscuits were soft and delicious, excellent sausage, good gravy. Service was super -- attentive, friendly, and accurate.We would definitely return here. Highly recommended!”

“Hey! This place is great! Remember that food truck attached to the space on the north side of commercial? They have a home, now. This was the freshest, most will presented Mexican food I've had in town. The restaurant was small and clean. They take pride in the food and it shows. You should definitely give this place a shot. Michoacan. Only complaint - they gotta water the salsa for the native Kansans. Oh Midwest! Get some heat! Spicy is good!!!”

“I've been coming here almost every Tuesday for around 6-8 years now. Their food is great, definitely an authentic taco place, they have a deal every Tuesday, 1.00$ tacos! Their tacos are small but still very tasty and filling. I love their Tortas and tostadas too.”

“The Steak Quesadilla was great the tomato wedges & lettuce was a nice touch, I just wish I had a tomato for every bite! Their green chili (sauce) was the most authentic I've had while dining out. The place only seats 2-4 tables so I'd suggest getting a Togo order if you show up at lunchtime. Very friendly to my construction crew and I also very patient!”

I've only had one bad experience down there and that was just because of one j*** otherwise the staff is awesome and it's always fun to come in play some games and chit chat.I threw at least $10 into those pinball machines and me and my friends had a blast! Always tip your bartender because they're working hard so we can have fun.Maybe I'll make it down there for St Patty's... seriously one of the best places in town and that's why we call it Royal!”

It's also a very cozy, family friendly, Bar& Grill??. We went in and the staff was attentive and very friendly.If you haven't been here then I suggest you give it a try. The food is fresh and delicious, our dinners were perfectly made and we had fried pickles as a appetizer and even those didn't disappoint, they are freshly hand-breaded when ordered so they aren't just the normal frozen deep fried appetizers. The steaks were perfectly made and very tender. I had the wings with roasted brussel sprouts and it was only $ 11.00. They were delicious and so filling I had to take half of my dinner home.Great job and I wish you much success... Lol, advertise more of your Bar& Grill part of your name.”

“I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone. It is an absolutely phenomenal little bar and grill and it is very family friendly! The staff are excellent and welcoming, the pulled pork tacos (my personal favorite) are insanely delicious, and the adult drinks are definitely not watered down. Some of it's features include an enclosed semi covered outside dining area with big screen t.v's with bench and table seats as well as high top tables with stools. Inside it has booths and tables with stools and a bar with high back stools as well as more t.v's. I would like to point out though that despite it accomodations it's not an obnoxious sports bar type setting, as the atmosphere is very laid back and inviting. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't be disappointed!”

“This is now called casa Ramos. It is the nicest Mexican food restaurant in emporia ks all new and remodeled. Lots of staff but not very quick to serve. Atmosphere was nice light Mexican music playing in the back ground.Parking: Very limited parking has to be the biggest issue at casa Ramos”

“I really liked the atmosphere in this establishment. I wasn't just another patron. I just wanted someplace to go were everybody doesn't just know your name, but they give you a feeling of belonging. I wish we had a place like this in St. Mary's, Kansas.”

They ask you to Google drinks for them if they don't know it and they do that alot so heads up on that can't just go I want an "eagle on a stick" and assume they know what that is. “I had me the eggs and chopped steak breakfast which comes with hash brown and a pancake or could be substituted for a biscuit. The food was great and the service was phenomenal. The lady attending was always attentive to my drink and made sure everything was good. The place was nice and peaceful.”

“We ate at the new location, very tasty and filling!We got a #2 (brisket sandwich) with pineapple coleslaw #4 (brisket jalapeño melt) with onion rings, cheese curd appetizer, and blueberry lemon cobbler.The meat is flavorful, tender, and a bit dry--needs lots of sauce! The sauce tastes bad by itself but great on the meat. The jalapeño melt was great--a little spicy, strong jalapeno flavor, and a good smokiness.The sides were alright, nothing flashy, and went well with the sandwiches.The cobbler was great! Strong blueberry and lemon flavors, with a sort of lemon custard.Service was prompt and polite.The only issue we had was the cheese curd price: $9 for a small amount of cheese curds (the three of us had about 4 each), rather small, and tasty, but not $9 worth of tasty.(The pictures don't do the food justice, really.)”

“Ribs did not fall apart when I picked them up(a really good thing) but were still juicy and pulled apart when I bit into them. Could smell the smoke and had a good ring. Tasted slightly sweet and smoky and very good flavor. Did not have to use sauce. I give these an overall of 9.3/10.”

“Tried 4 of the 12 house beers on draft. All very tasty. On recommendation from the server we had the flash fried brussels sprouts as a side. Absolutely delicious! They were so perfectly salty and crispy they almost overshadowed the sandwiches we ordered. Will definitely return whenever we pass through Emporia again!”
