“I know this is a bold statement to make, but this restaurant’s the best Lao restaurant I’ve visited thus far in the U.S., and I’ve been to quite my fair share of them in the U.S. in these past seven years. The workers and owner here at Khop jai der noodles are very friendly and the larb nam tok siin, thum khao poon, nam khao, khua mii, Lao beef jerky, Lao sausage, Lao milk tea, red summer drink, and green summer drink are the bomb! I love that all the dishes I ordered are as authentic as how my Lao friends/family and I’d make it, have reasonable prices, and have reasonable portion sizes. A lot of Asian restaurants in the U.S. are all over the place with their spice levels, but this restaurant doesn’t play, and their “hot”/second most spiciest level, was pretty spicy for someone who can tolerate a lot of spice. It’s nice that I was made clear of this as I was ordering. Their wait times are also reasonable. I ordered a lot, not to mention that they were also taking other in-person and over-the-phone orders, but I got all my dishes in less than 30 minutes. I had a fun time talking with Auntie Mimi, the owner, and Uncle Guy, the co-owner, after my meal. Uncle Guy even offered to help me box my food and take my food to my car, but I didn’t take up his offer since I didn’t want to get in the way of other orders/customers. Lastly, I wanted to note that Auntie Mimi was very courteous on the phone when I called two days before my visit to confirm their hours. Restaurants like this one, one that offers authentic Lao dishes and isn’t afraid to label itself and its menu as Lao, are the ones I wish to succeed the most and wish there were more of in places outside of Laos. I was smiling from ear to ear seeing all kinds of customers coming in, ordering the Lao-style of dishes, and seemingly pleased with their orders. This restaurant’s only been open 16 months at the time of my visit, and I hope that it gets all the love and attention it deserves very soon! I certainly can’t wait to check it out again the next time I’m in the area and wouldn’t even mind driving from my home, three and a half hours away, just to eat here!“

“We had dinner at Pho Vietnam for the first time. This is amazing Southeast Asian cuisine. Food is delicious, with great portions that are well priced. We can wait for our next visit. This restaurant is highly recommended.“
“I love you get to try small amounts of different rolls! I can still get a whole roll of the ones I love! Service is wonderful!“

“Pros: Most of the dishes are amazing. Try the spicy pork bun bowl, the beef pho and the watermelon boba tea. Cons: They need to clean up the service. The tables are usually dirty, the condiment bottles don't look like they've ever been cleaned and are absolutely disgusting and dirty and sticky to touch. The service is usually ok to poor, however in fairness Asian restaurants generally don't make good service a priority, and they don't try to break that mold here.“

“This was my go-to spot every single week when I lived in Kansas City five years ago. Since then, I’ve lived in Georgia, California, and Washington, and I currently reside in Seattle—yet this place remains the #1 Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to. I am so jealous of the people who live nearby. Highly recommended!“

“Eating here has made my life complete. I left as a different person. The sun shined brighter and although I was so full, I felt light at the same time. The food was so. SO. SO! amazing. Words can not describe how good the food is. The lighting was perfect, the atmosphere was cozy, and the workers were incredibly kind. The food was so fresh, so hot, and so amazing. I have confidence in my heart that the food's recipe is someone great grandmother's, because it was crafted so perfectly and with so much love that it healed my soul. The crab lagoon was crunchy and cheesy in all the right ways. 10/10. The rice was perfectly shaped and perfectly tasting even before I added more flavor to it. 100/10. The orange chicken was so crunchy, so flavorful, so hit, and so fresh, I genuinely don't think I've ever had anything like it and nothing can replicate it. 1000/10. If you ever. EVER. In Kansas City, YOU HAVE TO GO! Doesn't matter how far, the drive will be worth it. Hell, even if you're not in Missouri, you've got to taste this. Even if you're across the world and have to take a boat or plane, you must taste this food. ♾️/10“

“After finally stopping to try the Bahn Mi, it has become a weekly part of our diet! The food is incredible and so fresh. The pickled veg in the Bahn Mi is everything! The bread… omg. My favorite is the Special with extra pickled veg. Also anything with the Pate’. Steamed Pork Bun! The staff is so friendly and attentive! They also have coffee and pastries!“
