“Swung by this bar after a few distilleries on our way to Lexington. Great bourbon selection, comfortable seating, friendly bartender(Trent I believe), had good conversions with both tourists/locals, and was able to buy a bottle of bourbon at the bar, which we can’t do back home.

“I cannot say enough about the kindness of the staff here. My father had a medical emergency while waiting on dinner and the staff dialed 911 for me within seconds and offered to box up our food because we couldn’t stay to eat it. They also closed the restaurant while the EMT’s were working on Dad. I cannot say enough about the kindness of the employees/ staff. I have eaten there on other occasions too and the food has always been excellent.”

“I love my cheerful baker monthly boxes! I've recently bought a 3D printer and she has an option for the digital club so I changed to that one. With the digital club you have access to multiple years of monthly boxes and just like the physical boxes you still get all her tutorials. Lauren does an amazing job on her tutorials and makes it easier to decorate each cookie!”

“We’ve been to VBC numerous times for dinner and drinks, but when my youngest son really wanted to go out for a late breakfast, I was lucky to find on a Facebook post someone made that VBC had brunch on Sundays. (They really should add a landing page and brunch menu to their website so more people will know this is an option)

Not wanting to drive to Lexington, we went to VBC and honestly was blown away with the Brunch. We ordered Chicken & Waffles, Biscuits & Gravy, and their hash browns, enjoying every bite. Everyone in Woodford County should give their Sunday Brunch a try because it was truly outstanding.”

“We have dined at The Castle several times and it has always been a good experience. Of course the venue is stunning so there is that! On 8/22/25 we had out of town guests visiting and Brunch @ The Castle was our choice of venues. The Cobb Salad, Biscuits & Gravy and the Hogtown Breakfast were excellent. Our 4th guest ordered the Chilaquiles. The menu states the dish consisted of a Flour Tortilla, Barbacoa and a Fried Egg which was correct and plated. Additionally ingredients listed on the menu to be included with this entree were Red Salsa, Queso Fresco and Sour Creme of which there were NONE. Once we received our meals our server Trey, never returned to check in and see if we were pleased with our entrees. When our guest realized that HALF of the ingredients were missing from his entree since we could not locate our server we asked another server for Salsa of which he said they did not have. To his credit he did return with a a small container of some sort of hot sauce. When Trey FINALLY reappeared we asked about the other two items (Sour Creme and Queso) that were suppose to be included in the entree and he stated they did not have either one. When Trey brought our check to us, it included the Merchant & Customer copy but no itemized receipt. So we requested one. He did return with the itemized reciept and much to our shock/surprise the $24.00 Chilaquiles Entree was included on our bill. When we questioned him he said his manager had made the decision to NOT Comp the Entree. We requested to see a Manager and she promptly appeared at our table, apologized noting that she was never made aware of this situation. She immediately Comped the Entree and apologized for any inconvenience this had caused. She was very professional and I would like to extend my sincere thanks for her professionalism in handling the situation. We will return to The Castle as it is a favorite of ours, and our only hope is to be taken care of by a much more seasoned server.”

“Friendly people.. great food. Only issue is unless they are having a slow day.. don't get in a hurry to get your food because it takes forever. It's not really a sit down restaurant (although you can). Food is really good just don't expect to get in and out quickly.”

“On vacation with our Aussie- was thrilled to find a truly dog friendly venue with GF options. Food and atmosphere (lunch) was great - but we ordered their GF pizza to go to have later for dinner and OMG!!! I have been GF for 30 years and have been searching for good GF pies all over the US as we travel- and this was by far the very best I’ve ever had. Just incredible. Sad that we only have 1 more day to enjoy Lexington- I might order another to bring home!”
