“I don’t know why it took me so long to try Backside Grill. I thought maybe it was just a closet kitchen to serve drunk people food. Heck no, this place is legit! There’s not a ton of food options in oldham county so it’s nice to have another place to grab dinner for the family. Order online and pickup on your way home from work. Smoked wings are amazing, the new pizza is excellent, and my wife loves the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Kudos to the employees for working outside in the cold weather, but you are cranking out some delicious meals in winter coats.“

“I live 4 hours away from this place and that’s the only problem here.

The half chicken is possibly the best chicken I have ever had, found this place while spending July 4th weekend but sadly didn’t get a chance to try it then, since that time I passed through and stopped for half chicken to-go about 2 months ago and have been craving ever since.

This week a work trip took me through the area, and I had it twice in two days. The food is so good there was no time for pics.

The half chicken and I assume the wings are almost like crack level crave with a thin crust from the dry seasoning. Honestly just perfectly cooked and seasoned.

This coming from a guy who travels for work and eats dinners out 3-4 times a week. Most of those meals are half chickens or wings and slaw.

That’s my version of diet food.

Also, the cole slaw is excellent, certainly not from a pail, homemade, unique middle of the road on sweetness and mayo based. Only recommendation would be to serve a bit colder- maybe that’s just my taste.

The fries are homemade, that alone makes this place an 8, add that to great looking establishment, full bar of craft beer plus the great food, and it should be a 15 on scale of 1-10.

Lastly both times this week I had the great pleasure of getting helped by Emily both over the phone when calling in my to-go orders, then at check out.

She is definitely holding this place down, she is so helpful and efficient, and I saw her deal with a customer that might have had one too many and she handled it like a champ. Give this girl a raise.

Love this place and please think about opening up in Nashville PLEASE.

“Best Barbecue Around!!! My husband and I are here visiting family and had received a recommendation from a local 4th grade schoolteacher for Doc’s. We had the dinner for 2 with ribs, wings and pulled pork with 4 sides…I think it was $33 or something close to that. I’d only had a bowl of cereal and was super hungry and this food hit the spot. The server, who said he also cooks the meat, was very good and attended to our needs without us saying anything. Needless to say, we took about half of our meal home with us, and it was just as good the next day. I can be critical if it’s warranted, but this was a pleasant experience and we will go again.“

“Came in last night in Togo and order food, while ordering food a server was arguing with a manager, manager ask the server to stop many times and he continued on with his argument. He was very unprofessional and the manager walked away. Nobody should ever be talk to like that and he should have stop when she asked him too. I felt sorry for the young lady as she told him quit and he continued. This gentleman should not work with people.“

“We had a new guy who took a very long time to put are order in after we had placed our order because he forgot to do it so that was fine we made the best of it but he wasn't outstanding and our lobster tails were over cooked like rubber so theirs some training that may need to happen but it is a nice place and most people were getting outstanding service I'm going back I feel things will be just fine it appears clean best I can tell because I pay attention to all detail even the detail they try and hide from ya like the kitchen any chance I get to poke my head in as I walk past I always do. I am a consumer I like and enjoy good food and good service and I tip very well because when these great servers and waiters and waitresses bar maid and tenders alike do their thing well it's a great experience and one they deserved paid well for doing and my tips are very handsome to be modest but I hate paying for bad service even though I still do it really teaches them nothing.
