“I had a 1/2 rack, coleslaw and fries. The ribs were done to perfection, meaty and fell of the bone. The coleslaw was excellent and full of flavor. The fries were thin, fresh cut with skins you could taste separately from the potato. Highly recommend Charlie G's and I'll be back.“

“Visiting from out of town and was looking for someplace that served up some Burgoo. I first tried burgoo at Churchill Downs and really enjoyed the taste. I saw an article online listing Double H BBQ as one of the top burgoo locations in Lexington and decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Their burgoo was broth based and what I was looking for. Also tried the white chicken chili, green beans and a small brisket sandwich. Everything I tried was good and made my belly happy.“

“I’m from Memphis Tennessee and recently moved to Lexington. Let’s just say I love it here, great place, highly underrated. But the BBQ in Lexington is pretty bad compared to what I’m used to in Memphis. I expected a drop but it’s pretty big. But I am from a bbq capital so it’s fine. I decided not to even try dickeys, chain bbq eh. But I decided to run in and grab a bbq sandwich and a coke and give it a shot. Surprised doesn’t begin to describe the pulled pork. It was some of the best I’ve had here. I don’t know about the ribs or sides, again not expecting Memphis but, I’m sure they’re decent enough. What I do know is the pulled pork is far closer to what I’m used to. So we will return. The workers were very nice and one point I’d like to make to the owners is THANK YOU for not skimping on the sauce. When BBQ places give me a hard time over sauce I do not return. I grabbed 2 sliders and a BBQ sandwich and he offered up 3 cups of cause, more than enough, before I asked. That in itself is huge. I’ll never understand BBQ places allowing you to bathe inside when you eat but fight over to go orders. So this place did it right and hopefully they continue. The gentlemen’s that took my order was great also.“

“This spot is great for a casual bite to eat. They have very good food and I will definitely be back. I took away one star because of the appearance. In fact the first night when we pulled in we actually ended up leaving because it just looks so run down and there is a dilapidated hotel or something in the back. But after reading more reviews we decided to give it a try the next night and were sorry we didn't come in the night before. The food and service are excellent! Don't be scared off by the appearance.“

“I used this City Barbeque location for catering for a private event at my home. The catering coordinator and delivery/setup team were awesome. The food was wonderful and stayed hot and cold appropriately. I definitely would use them again and had a wonderful, first experience.“

First off the staff (I didn’t get the young ladies name) was BEYOND amazing she helped us choose our food and showed us all that we needed to do with cooking our own food. She was super sweet. The food was freaking amazing! We had the meat and seafood. Our first time trying squid and it was pretty good. We felt warm and welcomed here and it was truly an authentic experience. We definitely plan on returning to try more things.“

“Great atmosphere, the staff is spot on. Mother fries are the bomb! Oysters and shrimp cocktail was very good! My wife and I both had the “ prime rib” recently. I’m not a butcher but what we had was not “prime rib”. It was I believe a $28 “chuck roast”.“

“My husband and I came in tonight for an early Mothers Day celebration. they were PACKED but still provide amazing service! We got seated quickly, our server was amazing, our drinks and apps came out within a few minutes, my margarita was delicious and not skimping liquor, and our food was amazing! The manager came by and we praised our experience. 10/10 would recommend.“

“One CANNOT go wrong with this place - it lives up to its name. My wife got steak and I got a steak burger, both of which were absolutely delicious! We also got cake for desert which was a bit heavy but we took it home for the next day // the atmosphere is very quiet and the staff were very friendly and gave us very efficient service!“
