“The food was amazing. Have been here a couple of times already. The vada pav was really good. The wraps and sandwiches are quite good as well. Also, ordered a chicken curry and roti. Rotis were soft and melting in the mouth. All in all, a great place for Indian food.“

“This is one of the easiest reviews I will ever need to write. My friends from out of town wanted to go for Indian food. I have been to MANY of Louisville's best. I looked for the BEST of the Best and found Kathmandu rated the highest at the time of this review. Why not try a place I haven't been yet and write a review. We arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday night. It was a quaint place, clean and very comfortable with the inviting, colorful lights, yet not too bright. As soon as I stepped in the door, my senses started dancing. Besides being a small restaurant, the kitchen was close by. My wife and I and our friends from out of town found a booth and anticipated some good food, trusting the reviews to be valid. Ujina, was our server and host. She was very delightful and couldn't have done a better job making our visit rewarding. Ujina took our beverage order. We all asked for water. Ujina replied, with ice, or no ice? I like that. This is going to be a very detailed experience. She then took our food order which when I took my turn, added a couple appetizers, namely Onion Pakora's and Fried Mo Mo's. They were brought out first with some tasty sauces. We all enjoyed them very much. Our entrees arrived soon after the appetizers. I ordered Chicken Karahi, which is one of the BEST dishes I ever had ANY where. The chicken was quality chunks of goodness, the flavor unmatched and sauce thick enough to sop my garlic Naan in. We ALL ordered garlic Naan. Both couples ate one order and had another order left to take home along with left over entrees that came with basmati rice. My wife ordered Chicken Curry like she usually does and said this one was different than any other and Better. Our friends ordered Goat Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala which they were thrilled with. Another couple came in shortly after we arrived and sat on the opposite side of the restaurant. Other than that it was quiet. When we were ready to leave, I paid the bill, got a Military discount and spoke with the Owner/Chef, Purna. I can tell he cares about what he does and wants everything to be the BEST it can be. Kathmandu lives up to the highest reviews and IS the BEST Indian food in Louisville. The ambiance is very nice and the service is second to none. We never needed to look for Ujina for anything. She was there before we ever asked, filling our cups. I can't say enough about the texture and taste of the food. My entrée could only have been better with some MORE sauce, which I told Purna. He said next time ask for some more when ordered. The sauce is liquid gold. The veggies were perfect and the chicken was premium. I can't wait to go back and try something other offerings.“
“We came in around 5pm when the restaurant re-opened. We got seated immediately and ordered soon after. Our drinks came out very soon with our food following. We ordered mango lassi, mango milkshakes, chicken 65, butter chicken and chicken biryani. Everything was very tasty. Highly recommend coming here!! The best desi food I've ever had!“
“So went here thinking that there was a lunch buffet, unfortunately no longer offering it. Info needs to be updated on Yelp. Nonetheless, pleasantly surprised with the taste and freshness of the food. Everything ordered was amazing. The flavors have no words, just the right amount of spice. The sauce provided was outstanding. Fast and pleasant service provided. So much food, had to box the left overs. The place is small and clean. Parking lot available. Definitely highly recommended if you are looking for something different, tasty, fresh, at a reasonable cost. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.“
“Amazing fusion food with incredible service inside Logan Street Market!I got the chicken Tikka tacos & they were incredible! A flavor combo I didn't know I needed until I had it. They came with 3 tacos however one was already eaten before I remembered to snap a pic (oops).The service was incredible & the gentlemen helping me explained a few different options before I settled on their most popular.This location is inside Logan st market so it can be busy/loud at times, but for the fair price & delicious food it is well worth it.“
“The hostess and waitress was very friendly. She was eager to help us and explain multiple items on the menu. The food arrived fairly quick. We didn't realize this was a chain. But, it didn't matter -- the food was incredible. We ordered. Few chef's specialty dishes which were all items we've never had before. We even tried a new biryani dish: Ulavacharu biryani. Looking forward to trying more dishes here.“
“The first thing I noticed as we walked in the door, you can smell the spices and wonderful aroma in the whole dining room. We received very polite and quick service. The food was amazing. Everything was spiced and flavorful without being too hot. The mint cilantro chutney with the crisp bread was a surprisingly delicious accompaniment to the meal. The garlic Naan was also great. I think we will definitely come back again.“
“This was the first time I’ve ever eaten Indian cuisine and I was impressed. It was so good! I don’t know what I was afraid of? I went with a friend who had also never had Indian cuisine. “Definitely the best Nepali food you can get in all of Kentucky. I live in Lexington- and my friends and I travel all the way to Louisville every week just for some food from Chamling! Their must haves: Chili momo, Jhol momo, Pork Sekuwa, and Chowmein. Also, the owners are just as amazing as their food!“

“We went there today with my cousin's family for lunch, we enjoyed the lunch buffet and it had some great items like goat nihari, goat haleem, shrimp chettinad, chicken 65 and chicken dum biryani on it's buffet menu. “I could not get over how good the food was here. Was not expecting that but was pleasantly surprised. I tell you what I got, but I done forgot LOL. The staff is a little bit todd, and sometimes it's a challenge communicating. The restaurant seems a little more formal and dated then it probably should, but those are extremely minor details to a overall great dining experience. My wife can't stand heat, she got her food flavored mildly, and had no issues with it. I on the other hand like my food a little bit spicy, I had mine one level from the hottest, I most definitely felt that haha. The great thing about the heat they use is that it doesn't take from the flavor. They have a lot of vegetarian options obviously, and one of the appetizers is a cauliflower dish that you must try. Overall very much love this place, will absolutely be back.“
