“We spotted this bottle shop while driving through Louisville and decided to pop in. Definitely a good call. The layout makes it super easy to browse, and the selection is impressive, especially if you’re into older age‑statement bottles or hunting for rare finds. The staff member on duty was straightforward and helpful, answering every question we threw his way.
If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping in just to look around. We also wandered into the bar next door. Cozy, dimly lit, total speakeasy vibes. We didn’t stay for a drink, but it looked like a very cool spot.“

“Love this place. Mellwood Tavern gives you two completely different experiences under one roof, and both are worth checking out.
Downstairs is exactly what a great Louisville dive bar should be—laid back, unpretentious, and stocked with a really solid beer selection. The real star, though, is Tuesday night fried chicken, which might honestly be the best in Louisville. It’s crispy, flavorful, and absolutely worth planning your week around. And whatever you do, don’t skip the potato cakes—they’re the perfect side and honestly complete the whole meal.
Upstairs is a total contrast in the best way. The renovated private hangout space is quieter, well-appointed, and perfect if you want a more relaxed vibe. Between the dart boards, TVs, and comfortable setup, it’s an awesome place to watch whatever game you want, hang with friends, or spend a long night throwing darts without the chaos of the downstairs bar.
It’s rare to find a place that nails both the classic dive bar feel and a polished private hangout space, but Mellwood does it perfectly. Tuesday chicken alone is worth the trip. “

“We booked the Hosted Tasting experience for four people. We were early, but we were able to be seated to begin. Our host was Hannah, and she was AMAZING! She is an certified Bourbon Steward and extremely knowledgeable about the products that we tasted, and she listened to our comments to steer us to just the right whiskeys for us! We have been to 80+ distilleries all over the US, and she is by far one of the best we have had! She is fun and charismatic! The tasting included cashews, bacon jam, and pretzels to cleanse our palates. We also had the opportunity to purchase pours of harder to find Whistlepig whiskeys. The building is an old bank, and it is absolutely gorgeous!“

“My favorite weekday drinking dive for over 12 years. Something different every late night to entertain; live music, karaoke, movie night, Jeopardy watch party, weekly cyclist night. Sometimes even just some free drop off pizza from DiOrios. Right on the corner of Germantown and Paristown and just up the street from Old Forester concert hall. This bar is also home of the "Iceberg" , a Titanic inspired cocktail! Some theme decorations (Lego ship!) along the back of bar. Also a great collection of Star Wars figurines on the other half of back bar. Outside food welcome but they do have hot dogs and chili dogs along with a wall of snacks if you need something in your tummy before you throw down some beer etc. Small, but quaint patio in the back. As you head to that patio you'll walk through a cozy movie room that displays posters of past Sunday Cinema movies that are shown there every Sunday at 8. This neighborhood bar doesn't pretend! It's family, it's welcoming, it's a dive, it's fun and so“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cheese & Vibes? Say Less. I walked into Cultured thinking I’d have a cute little cheese moment—and walked out a full-blown dairy enthusiast. 🧀✨ If you love great wine, perfectly curated cheese boards, and an atmosphere that makes you feel effortlessly cool, welcome to your new obsession. The selection?? Next level. Every cheese, every pairing, every sip of wine feels intentional, elevated, and just straight-up delicious. Like, I took one bite and immediately started questioning why I ever settled for basic grocery store cheese. (I’ve changed. I’m different now.) And the vibe?? Absolutely flawless. It’s giving "I’m sophisticated but also fun"—the kind of place where you could have a romantic date, a gossip-filled wine night, or just sit alone and pretend you’re the mysterious lead in an indie film. 🎭🍷 Final thoughts? Cultured isn’t just a wine & cheese shop—it’s a lifestyle. If you haven’t been yet, grab your people (or just yourself, no shame) and go treat your taste buds to something truly elite. 🧀🍷🔥“

“What a wonderful place! We came to Louisville to celebrate a birthday and decided to stop by and try all the gay establishments while here. This was by far our favorite - warm and welcoming bartenders and lovely locals that made us feel right at home. It was great meeting all of them and I look forward to stopping by the next time I’m in Louisville (and considering how much bourbon flows through that city, it is going to be soon!)“

“A must! if you are in Bonita. This place has a wonderful selection of appetizers and main courses. We absolutely love the hummus and they even have gluten free cauliflower pita which is out of this world. Pizza selection is very creative and the drinks are so much fun. As for the staff, AMAZING! Anthony is absolutely wonderful. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a 2026 Michelin star 🌟 experience in Bonita.“

“Hidden gem! Do not hesitate.“
“This is an interesting place for sure. It very much has the look of a sailing ship on the inside with all the wood on the walls and ceiling along with the ropes and lanterns and dark allure. The cocktail selection is pretty great and very much themed to the open seas. The food menu is really great for noshing on enhanced pub fare. The fries were my favorite besides the oysters. The chips and dip were good but not outstanding. The yacht dog was tasty. The olives were a unique surprise as the ginger / Asian season gave a nice zing. Beer was good but really wished there was a better draft selection. Overall this is a decent cocktail bar with upscale appetizer items. I am not sure I would make this a full dinner spot but would certainly hit it up for the happy hour oysters! I would certainly not turn down another cruise about YachtSea for a pint and fries! Ahoy!“

“Had a great time on what ended up being a private tour for my wife and I since no one else signed up. I'd give it 5 stars if this were Yelp. Really interesting story on their more recent challenges and how they have thrived/survived. They have some great whiskeys to try and some of their unique finished stuff is incredible. If I had one complaint, it would be the plastic tasting cups.“

“Library Bar stayed PACKED the entire time I was staying at the omni which honestly told me everything I needed to know about the spot.
We wanted to check out the speakeasy too but it ended up booked for a private event which was tragic for me personally because I already mentally prepared myself to act mysterious in low lighting.
I ordered Pharaoh’s Dream, or Plane? Prayer? Something biblical and expensive sounding, and it was GREAT. Dangerously great actually. Had I not been limiting myself I absolutely would’ve gotten tore up!
The crowd felt a little standoffish but there was a conference happening at the Omni that week so honestly I think a lot of networking and corporate mingling was happening more than socializing.
Still, the drinks and atmosphere carried the experience.“

“Absolutely amazing place to hang out and do karaoke. For starters it was very welcoming and drinks are reasonably priced. Lori the bartender is amazing and full spirited, the singers were freaking amazing and enjoyed every minute from walking in to leaving the establishment, talked to a couple of locals and they were super friendly. I was also honored to meet the owner Kenny who is probably one of the best DJ/owner duos I’ve seen in a very long time I definitely can’t wait to visit again it’s not too big nor too crowded but from what I was told it does get pretty crowded but it is definitely worth the drive. Keep up the great work guys and see you soon“
“its a happening little joint , there are some good people that frequent the place , and i hear that the DJ is awesome lol.....“
“I’ve started come up here multiple times a week as of lately and they have been nothing, but amazing. They don’t just randomly start “yelling” at you for no reason. I’ve played around the courts with my daughters in between games and they didn’t get mad. They just said, “Hey we’re about to start a new game.” So we were respectful and walked off the courts. Great place to go in Jtown! Come down and see for yourself how awesome this place is!“
“This is a nice place to shoot pool and hang out. It has that neighborhood bar feel, which is really nice nowadays. There is 6 pool tables and there is plenty of room to shoot and have fun. The lady that was bartending was very nice and all of the people that were in there, on a Monday night, were really friendly!“
“Really fun location, close to lots of great spots!“
“Marmaduke's a well hidden (no signage) local neighborhood bar with cheap, good drinks, friendly bartenders, some bar food and usually NASCAR, Sundays, UofL / UofK games and free pool on sunday monday. With a pool tournament on thursdays. Late nights usually until 4am.“
“I have only been to the bar area twice and it is a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff“

“I've eaten my way around the world — mom-and-pop kitchens tucked down alleys, street stalls with lines out the door, and a handful of spots from the World's Best 50 list. I say that not to brag, but so you understand the weight behind what I'm about to tell you: dinner at Decade is one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.
Andy and his team have pulled off something I genuinely struggle to put into words. The genius here isn't rare truffles or gold leaf — it's the opposite. Decade takes homey, everyday ingredients, the kind you'd find in any grandmother's pantry, and transforms them into something you simply won't believe. Each plate builds on the last, flavors folding and unfolding in ways I didn't know food could do. Familiar comfort turned kaleidoscopic. Textures that caught me off guard, flavor combinations that made me stop mid-bite and just laugh. If you could have an acid trip on a dinner plate, this is it — and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. This is the most creative menu I have ever encountered, and I do not say that lightly.
But great food is only half the story. The care behind every course, the rhythm of the meal, the sense that this team genuinely loves what they do — it all came through. You feel looked after. You feel like you're sitting at the center of something special that's only just getting started.
And it is just getting started. I'm genuinely excited to watch the Decade restaurant group grow, because there's a vision here that deserves to reach far beyond Louisville. One personal hope: I understand the co-owner has roots in San Francisco. As someone who calls the Bay Area home, I would be first in line if they ever opened a spot out west. Please make that happen.
If I lived in Louisville, I'd be here constantly — no question. Decade isn't just a meal. It's an experience I'll be telling people about for years.
Andy, thank you. Thank you for the creativity, the heart, and the sheer joy you put on every plate. You and your team have built something rare and beautiful, and you deserve every bit of success and every accolade heading your way. If you find yourself in Louisville, do yourself a favor and go to Decade. Trust me.“
