I've stayed in a lot of hotels......and a "decent to good" hotel restaurant is, well, rare. And yet, life is most beautiful and delicious when you least expect it. In Owensboro, Kentucky, as we speak. The Lure Seafood & Grille within the Hampton Inn & Suites was absolutely phenomenal. My husband and I splurged for a date night and we were not disappointed! We got the pimento cheese toast as an appetizer (10/10 recommend, so delicious! I love anything with hot honey). I had the filet and he had the beer battered cod. My steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. He enjoyed his meal as well, especially the homemade sauces. Sick vibes - don't be turned off by the colocation of this place with a hotel. It's a genuine downhome establishment, with killer food (I had the crab cake grilled cheese with kimchi, and it was rockin'). It also has a sincere and thoughtful grateful dead vibe, and beautiful hand-painted original portraits of bluegrass icons.Definitely worth a stop while you're at the bluegrass hall-of-fame next door.
