“Cute little bar/grill. It was fun to look at all the funny signs they had about the place. Our drinks were nicely poured. I had to try their famous deep fried hamburger and it was yummy! Never saw anything like it before. My husband got classic burger and enjoyed it. They have a place to sit outside which would be nice in cooler weather. It's a place that reminds you of the old days which is what I love!!!”
“I don't usually write reviews, and I'm sure of all reviews mine doesn't make too much difference - but I could not let this one go without saying how truly amazing this was. My server Sarah (apologies if not spelled correctly) was absolutely amazing - gave me a free lil palette cleanser of the passion fruit sorbet (freaking amazing). You go in expecting to pay a good bill, but honestly it was SUPER reasonable for the amount of food I got, the service, food quality, and the environment.I felt super comfortable eating alone here, too, so bonus points for that. Also - the food is incredible. My taste buds were so jazzed about it. If I could recreate the sauce that came with the veal short rib, I'd put it on everything haha.Anyway, kudos to the chef, and kudos to my amazing waitress Sarah. Would come back to Cincinatti for this restaurant ❤️”
“I’ve been to mid city about 5 times, it was amazing the first time I went and every time I go it gets better. The staff are amazing people! They have nailed both food & service. When you eat here, they make every guest feel special. Just this week I went to a high end restaurant in Cincinnati and was treated like an inconvenience because I had an infant with me. Then I came to mid city and they were so accommodating of the baby. They knew who we were right when we walked in, they gave us a huge table with plenty of space, kept saying how glad they were we came, it was pouring rain outside so they gave us towels to wipe off, they helped us to our table, even helped carry the car seat. That’s how you run a restaurant. There’s a reason they have a 4.9 star rating on Google, it’s because I don’t think 5 star is possible.”
“Authentic Hawaiian cooking - so delicious! Family owned and run. Excellent and friendly service. Don't pass up the custard pie (Val's mother's recipe)!”
“Charming old world home with Sicilian brick oven! The team was wonderful and very friendly. I travel frequently and always seek out small brick oven pizza's to try. I am excited to say that this is now my new favorite! The ingredients were fresh and plentiful and the crust is outstanding! It is an easy walk from Newport Aquarium, which means I will be going again and again. The cannoli pie is a great way to finish up the meal and will not disappoint. The owners were there and engaging and so welcoming!”
“Our favorite restaurant in the area. I'd put their filet mignon up against any steak house. Atmosphere is very laid back but classy. Drinks are unique and excellent.”
“While on spring break from Raleigh, North Carolina, my son and I made it a priority to visit Nolia Kitchen after hearing about it and Chef Jeff Harris' James Beard Semi Finalist. Located in the vibrant Over the Rhine neighborhood, known for its local restaurants and shopping, we planned our early dinner around this exciting hotspot. As we arrived at Nolia around 5pm, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host was both kind and efficient, while our server impressed us with their sweet demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. Though we had already perused the menu, our server still took the time to share some additional offerings. With our choices in mind, we placed our orders, which included the following:- Gulf Oysters (6) from both the East and West Coast- Cauliflower- River CatfishTo complement our meal, I indulged in the delightful Goretti Park cocktail. Each dish was served with care and precision. My son particularly enjoyed the East Coast Oysters, while the cauliflower, accompanied by raisins and honey (we asked for it on the side), left a remarkable impression. Personally, my favorite was the catfish, paired with crawfish and grits. The combination of flavors was truly exceptional.During our visit, we were fortunate enough to meet Chef Jeff himself. He graciously shared his vision for the restaurant, adding to the overall amazing experience.Thank you, Chef Jeff Harris and team, for providing us with a memorable dining experience at Nolia Kitchen, worthy of your James Beard recognition.”
“Overall pretty neat restaurant! The menu is very limited - 3-4 options per course with 3 courses in total. Would appreciate bigger selection for this place. It’s not “fancy” enough to offer that limited menuAnd the atmosphere was not the best - a bit old/dated, not in a “antique-cool” way. Very simple interiorMeatballs were flavorfulAnd their duck is really goodHow they decided to bring out a ginger beer, after we ordered a ginger ale, because it is “ginger ale was not available, and this is the closest to it” will remain a mystery to me”
“This is the best restaurant in Cincinnati hands down. Not only is the food unbelievably delicious, but the ambiance is stunning. Most of all, the service is impeccable. They really make the experience very personalized to whatever occasion you are celebrating. Erick was our server and was very knowledgeable of all the items and provided great recommendations. The assistant manager, Jared, was also very attentive and friendly. Such an incredible experience, we can’t wait to go back!! Get the butter pie for dessert!!”
“I came here for the lobster crab shrimp BLT and I thought I found the love of my life but not this time. I wish the filling of the seafood portion had more texture with pieces of meat. It puts me in mind of tuna salad. It’s a cold sandwich but the filling was ice cold. The French fries could use improvement as well. Overall the food wasn’t nasty but I wouldn’t order or recommend it. Over priced as well for what’s given. The restaurant is beautiful and I will definitely come back to try another dish. I sat at the bar and the young lady who took my order was very pleasant which is why I ate in.”
“I don’t understand the hype. The food is authentic Italian but heavy on the seafood. Extremely expensive for the portions. Atmosphere was cool and chic but not my style. Definitely not a family place. Absolutely a true foodie place for someone who wants to try outside of the box Italian food.”
“We were looking for some protein before our hike in the nature preserve. SO happy we happened upon Pig Candy BBQ ? We had the brisket sandwich and pulled pork waffle. Absolutely delicious, we ended up ordering another sandwich to go. The employees were also so sweet, what a joy to eat here!”
“Golden Hands Bakery is filled with masterpieces of deliciousness. Ron and I stopped in today for an Opening Day Donut for a home run review! My Apple fritter was crispy on the outside and moist and power packed with cinnamon and apples on the inside. Ron’s sticky bun was sticky and Carmel coated with pecans and cinnamon. Beyond amazing morning experience ?”
“We were here for a mid afternoon meal to celebrate a birthday. The Service was stellar, food was delicious and each person in our party of 5 loved their meal as well as the craft cocktails some of us enjoyed. It was my first experience having an apparel spritz and it was quite enjoyable. The price point per person with beer and cocktails was about $45 per person. I wasn’t sure how formal the attire would be and wore a casual dress with sandals. That was almost dressed up compared to most for the time of day, lots of shorts and jeans, if this helps anyone decide on what to wear. I highly recommend this establishment and will be going back.Dietary restrictions: The server made a point to ask if any of us had any dietary restrictions.”
“Went for a birthday dinner and had an excellent time. The service is impeccable--efficient, friendly, with all of the added touches of a fine dining establishment. The food overall was very good, although not perfect. The Amish chicken was a little too salty and the tartare was good but uninspired. The scallop was by far the best dish, I would come back again just for that!!Dessert was delicious, well balanced, with excellent pairings.Overall, would very much recommend.”
“Out of town visitor and sweet family friends took me to dinner here! We explored many of the menu options but our favorites were the Moroccan spiced broccoli texture and crisp was perfect with the sauce served with it, and Crispy falafel was my favorite dish !Roasted beets & Lebna was also good. We also ordered the potato gnocchi but didn’t get to try it because I filled up on the other dishes that arrived first.Cute vibey atmosphere! Kind service.”
“Came here with a friend who frequents this place and I'm pretty impressed. We lined up on Easter at opening and they already had a line out the door, even in the light drizzle. The line stayed that way over the next hour that we hung out there. They do sell out of items so it's best to get there as early as you can! I'm more of a sweet tooth when it comes to baked goods, but the everything bagel croissant is a must-have here. The staff heat it before serving, and it's truly the best of both worlds - the butteriness and flakiness of a croissant, with the garlic scallion seasme flavors of an everything bagel. The raspberry almond croissant is also delicious, a good balance of tart and nutty. The salty chocolate chip cookie was also good - large chocolate chunks throughout. The vegan matcha brownie was an adventurous pick; I'm usually iffy about vegan baked goods, and this one had a texture closer to a fudge than to a brownie. I liked the chocolate and mint combo but couldn't get a hint of matcha. Similarly, the raspberry matcha doodle had plenty of raspberry but 0 matcha. Overall, the limited edition matcha flavored items fell flat, but the goods off the regular menu were great and reasonably priced. The space itself is bright, large enough to seat a few small groups, and nice to hang out in. Staff are also helpful and friendly. Check this place out and stick to their bestsellers, and you'll be in carb heaven.”
“Always love mitas, and got the venison tartare this time! Great flavor and not gamey at all. Snag yourself a reservation to one of the top restaurants in the US!”
“We came in for my wifes birthday, while in Cincinnati. Samantha went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Her recommendations on food, we couldn't stop eating. The stroganoff was rich and creamy and my steak was cooked perfectly. A night we will remember.”
“The food here is the best Mediterranean I’ve encountered. We typically order the family platter and it’s always great. Service and timeliness are spot on. Highly recommended!”
“Popped in before dinner for drinks on Friday night. Parked right out front of the spot and breezed in. After being warmly greeted by the host, we parked at the bar. The place is beautiful. Love the design choices and the blue notes. A big table carved into the back wall looks great for a group. The drinks take awhile for the staff to make, so prepare yourself. However the wait is definitely worth it. Loved every drink we had. The French 75 was light and crisp. The Peardon my French was tasty and not overly sweet. I'm not a huge rum person but would highly recommend the hibernation sour. The bit of salt and spice was fantastic. Can't wait to come back. I want to try their daytime coffee and food menu.”
“Stopped on our way from Ohio to Nashville. Quaint little place. Friendly staff food was very good. Had the Burrata which was some toasted baguette pieces with mozzarella and tomato. Also had a Cobb salad and the special sandwich which was a toasted sandwich and cream of mushroom soup. Overall a very tasty stop.”
“I can’t say enough good things about this place, the gelato they serve, or the incredible people who work there. True story, they have a specific flavor I absolutely love (sunflower). I ask for it all the time. Well, I hadn’t been in for a few weeks and they had made it. Fortunately they saved me a large cup of it, and gave it to my daughter to give to me. That was so nice and thoughtful, THANK YOU so much.”
“So happy we found this place! Have been maybe 3 or 4 times and it's great each time! The ricotta toast is simply epic. Best appetizer hands down!! The spaghetti and meatballs is also delicious!!!”
“We came to celebrate my mom‘s birthday this evening and had a wonderful experience. Our server was very kind and attentive. She made delicious recommendations. There were six of us dining. We started with the Mezze board, whipped ricotta with seasonal fruit (apricots today), and deviled eggs with pickled chorizo. The pita was so warm and we each enjoyed trying the different savory, herbal, and sweet components to our starters. I really appreciated the atmosphere because it allowed our family to talk and catch up. We also ordered and shared two portions each of the Arancini, chicken kebab, and Oishi shrimp. Everything was delicious and I especially loved the preserved lemon flavor in the Oishi dish.”
“We cannot say enough good things about our party last night!!Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind! Our group had the very best time and we can’t wait to come back! We would highly recommend fowling to anyone and everyone!Thank you so much for helping us celebrate my husbands 40th!”
“My leadership team met here for a planning session. The atmosphere was great! The staff was so kind and helpful. We ordered a variety of drinks. I ordered coffee, others ordered wine. We also ordered a charcuterie board for the table. It was nicely prepared and everything was fresh. Highly recommend!”
“I can't say enough about this place! Such great, fresh and flavorful food! Great wine and beer choices! The service was exceptional! Must try! Highly reccomended!”
“I love everything about VV. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The espresso macchiato is perfection in a beautiful teal blue cup. I love to enjoy one in the front window and watch the happenings of Mt. Lookout square. VV is not just a coffee shop though, they also have delicious pastries, sandwiches, meals, and drinks.”
“Their chocolate and vanilla soft serve in a cone is my favorite of any twist I’ve ever had in my life. Their ice cream is soft and so creamy and delicious! Perfect for a hot summer treat!”
