Jericho Farmhouse Ice Cream Shop • $$
137 Old Jericho Rd, Smithfield

“It was a great first visit! It's a lovely little spot with a pretty view!! The ice cream was delicious! I had a scoop of Vanilla and a scoop of Strawberry in a pretty waffle cone. The attendant said she wanted to order some Fall colors and mine was a dark raspberry color for the cone!! They had some good flavors and she let us try some samples! They had some local items for sale in there plus some merch like T-shirts and sweatshirts with their logo on them! I will be back again!Parking: It's a gravel lot but well maintained.“

Rowlett’s Milkhouse Creamery Ice Cream Shop • $
63 Commerce Pkwy, Campbellsburg

“I've been driving throughout the US over the last couple of years, and my advice to travelers - take the time to get off the beaten path and explore a bit. I did this on a trip from Nashville to upstate New York, stopping at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery inn Campbellsburg, Kentucky, and I was so happy I did!Vibe: It's an ice cream stand, simple as that. There are picnic tables outside, so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. But what made the vibe so special - the brother and sister team of Terry and Sharron Rowlett - two of the nicest and sweetest people you could meet. I loved hearing their story and how they started the business - it's small businesses like this that are essential to the fabric of our economy.Service: I think I captured that above in the vibe. Uber personable and friendly.Food: I am a huge fan of Coffee Ice Cream and so happy that they had this as a option. It was DELISH! I also had a scoop of Cookies & Cream - super good as well. Their flavors aren't fancy or exotic, but you don't need fancy or exotic to make great ice cream - just great ingredients and a love for what you do. I also bought a brick of unsalted butter - there is nothing better than use farm-fresh butter when cooking.I highly recommend making a detour to Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery if you're driving along Interstate 71 from Louisville to Cincinnati, you will be happy you did!Date of Visit: 1 June 2023“

“This was my first time at Freddy's. My hamburger was good. They mash them flat so the edges were crispy. The fries are shoestring with seasoning. Not too salty. Hubby and I shared a mini cup of frozen custard. Yummy ?. Looking forward to a trip for a Concrete treat.Parking: I drive a F250. The lot is very tight. You can park at Tractor Supply and walk through the lot.“
