“I had an “enjoyable” time here in 2012 for “WLC” Some of the instructors were racist. But that’s to be expected. It’s the army. The females barracks were definitely haunted. But instead they treated us as if we were insane. Food at the chow hall was mediocre. But we were glad to sit with others and talk even if it was briefly. They used to have inmates working in the chow hall and all around the grounds. They wore white jumpsuits. That was a bit weird. Glad I was only there for 2 weeks. What made it memorable were my battle buddies. Not an ideal place, but at least we got interesting memories!“

All the sides looked wonderful, and between the two of us, hubby and I sampled the mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, green beans, Mac and cheese, mustard greens, and yams. “I can NOT SAY ENOUGH WONDERFUL THINGS about the Mother’s Day buffet. My family enjoyed the phenomenal Easter buffet and looked forward to the Mother’s Day; let me say, we were impressed once again. So many wonderful things I could not sample everything but here are my favorites 1. The eggs Benedict … this delicious golden yolk cascaded down, mingling with the silky thyme hollandaise to infuse into the soft English muffin…. Absolute delish!!! 2. The shrimp and grits …. Perfectly cooked spicy shrimp with Gouda grits was a testimony to why southern Louisiana cuisine reigns supreme …. And the Monica sauce elevates it to elegance while still your tummy is pampered with down home comfort. 3. The fried fish! This is a chef’s secret because it was not traditional fried fish. Whatever the secret, it delivered scrumptiousness in every crispy tender bite! Oh and don’t forget the homemade tartar sauce! 4. …… and the perfectly cooked Prime Rib! with the amazing horseradish sauce to complement … definitely a show stopper 5. The ambiance…. The service as always great …..Which seems to be part of the family atmosphere….. and the soft jazz …..taking it from just dining with family to Mother’s Day memories“

“Coming from the east coast we were dying to have a good sub. We were spoiled with Publix subs (IYKYK). Poboy express came highly recommended by locals and we tried it today for lunch! Absolutely did not disappoint! Jimmy the owner was so welcoming and helped direct us to the exact sub we were looking for! I got the super Cajun and my husband got the rajun Cajun! They were fantastic! Cat fish was so fresh and the homemade tater sauce with delicious! Oh and the fries..one of a kind! Don’t skip the fresh baked cookies!!! “We didn't have a reservation but they got us a table no problem. Our waiter was Jeffrey and he was so good! We got the Allegro Moscato which was delicious! Appetizer: The wedge salad, Shrimp Alexandria and the crab cakes were all sooo delicious! Entree: Salmon (good) and 8oz filet (dry) with whipped mashed potatoes (delicious). Dessert: Chocolate cake and cheesecake (mediocre).“

“I’m on the PTO for a large school here in Pineville.We celebrated teacher appreciation today with a camping theme lunch that featured poboys. The po boys was a complete hit. AB and the rest of the staff there were a pleasure to deal with even when I called last minute to add a vegetable poboy to my order. They even sent plates and Napkins with our order they went above and beyond for us. I can’t thank them enough for helping us show the staff how appreciated they are.“

“First time in Alexandria. I was next door at the BEST Western and decided to walk over for lunch. The cheeseburger was delicious!! Cooked to order and was fresh. We were greeted by staff and promptly waited on and served!! We also went back the next morning for breakfast!!“
