Awesome food great places
The food was delicious! I hadn’t been to the Government Street location in over 20+ years due to living out-of-state but it was exactly like it has always been food-wise. The fresh bread, thinly-sliced roast beef and barbecue sauce were just as in the distant past and did not disappoint. My only issue was the warm dining room. It was at least 78 degrees inside so while it was an improvement from being outside in 90 degree heat and humidity it was not very comfortable.
It's good but I think there are better in BR.

However, they could improve on their service by checking on customers during their meal. The restaurant is kid-friendly, with staff interacting warmly with children. Parking is adequate, but a handicap ramp could be added for better accessibility. Overall, Jay's Bar-B-Q offers tasty food in a friendly atmosphere.
